“I have purchased several item from this wonderful boutique. The prices may be a little high, but you have to think of the cost the store takes to have their items shipped to the island. The staff has always been very nice, never pushy. I always look at the items before I purchase them, like I do at any store on the mainland. If I find any imperfections, I bring it to the attention of the staff. I have had to that at Macy’s but never at the Stare Case. So enjoy yourselves while shopping in Avalon.”

“We had a fabulous time at White’s Landing, a restful secluded cove not far from Avalon. The variety of things to do, from the inviting turquoise blue water to the chaparral-lined rugged coastal trails, offer fun for all ages: snorkeling, kayaking, hiking and hanging out in hammocks to name a few. All of this within easy reach of hustle-bustle SoCal. Well worth it! The whole experience was amazing, filled with Catalina’s natural beauty, island wildlife and rustic charm that’s hard to beat! Thank you MSA - we’ll definitely join you again at White’s Landing.”

“Great rental shop in Catalina! My family and I were able to rent 6 sets of snorkeling equipment including fins, snorkel and masks for the two hour special they have. The staff was very knowledgeable of the area and the wildlife around. They recommended that we visit lovers cove park, where we we were blown away by the sheer number of fish we saw. Two people in our group got a little cold, but the shop had wet suits for us to rent. All in all, we had a wonderful time and are already planning our next trip back”

“SO many amazing vegan options in a town not otherwise known for vegan options. In fact, we wished we had more time in Avalon so we could have tried more! You can do your own custom made breakfast sandwich with vegan egg, sausage and Violife cheese, your own custom made pizzas, they even have amazing vegan sides such as creamy corn and roasted veggies. Did I mention avocado toast? Vegan donuts and brownies? So tasty too and a beautiful courtyard to eat in,”

“The rooms are small but they have everything you need, the beds are comfy and the A/C works well. Good water pressure and good water heat. This is exactly across from the beach and is perfectly located for a vacation stay. The front desk was very accommodating and helpful. The only thing I would say is don't stay here if you have any walking problems because all rooms are up some steep stairs.”

“Very clean and updated rooms. Close to town, vons, and mini-golf. Kinda small but you dont go to Catalina to sit in a hotel room. Front desk ladies were very nice and professional. Checking in and out was simple and easy. Only thing I would like to mention is there is no elevator. Didnt mind but being on the 4th floor will give you a great leg exercise. Would definitely stay here again.”

“Topside by NDMK is a wonderful new addition to the Avalon dining scene. I visited about 3-4 weeks after they opened and overall had a really nice experience. The location on the top deck is open, breezy and provides some beautiful views. It's a great spot for a relaxing meal. The food was excellent - we tried the seafood risotto and chicken piccata and both were delicious. The risotto was creamy and flavorful with a variety of fresh seafood. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a tasty lemon caper sauce (I loved the addition of edible flowers and microgreens). While the food was great, the service was slow considering there weren't many other customers in the restaurant. It took quite a while just to get our drink order and to place our food order despite ample staff. I understand they just opened and are likely still working out some kinks in the service. Overall I would definitely recommend Topside and look forward to returning. Once they smooth out some of the service issues, I could easily see this being a 5 star dining experience. For now, the delicious food and beautiful location earn them 4 stars in my book. With a little more time to find their groove, Topside will be one of the top restaurants in Avalon.”

“This was an awesome experience! Kylie, our guide, truly loved the ocean and wanted to share that love and excitement with us. She made the comment that she loves “giving people a ‘drivers license’ to allow them to explore the ocean.” So much fun. The snorkeling wasn’t incredibly tropical like my first thought is when I think snorkeling, but there were SO MANY fish and cool things to see none the less! Price was really good for the quality of the experience and we would do it again.”

“I've gone to Emerald Bay multiple years with my sons and their boy scout troop. What a great experience! The staff, facilities and food ("Fruit Punch! Haven't had it? Haven't lived.") are great, but the best part was the focus on living the scout law and extra opportunities than just the merit badge classes. Our troop has loved the values game and the pirate program over the years. We have several "Brigands" and even a couple "Anchormen" now. Also "Ranger Sean!" He remembered our boys by name over several years. If he's not careful he will end up as chief scout executive. Four stars only for two reasons. Difficult to get to and the cost has been prohibitive for some of our scouts. We want all our boys, even the disadvantaged ones, to have these experiences. All our scouts want to keep going back and I understand why. Great job Camp Emerald Bay!”

“Wonderful place to bring the kids after a long day of tourist activities! They were able to enjoy themselves with the variety of games here including air hockey, giant shooting games, and even bowling! It's nice that Avalon has this here for families traveling with children since so much of the island is geared towards adults relaxing and enjoying the view. This place uses point cards that kids use for playing the games and storing their tickets that they win from the games.”

“Stayed at the Catalina Canyon Inn and went out for lunch at the Cove. We were very surprised that the place was lonesome but we decided to give it a try. To our great surprise they had a very diverse menu and great service. Oh and not to mention they have happy hour from 3-6pm 🤗 We had carne asada fries and 2 rounds of buffalo wings and 2 rounds of margaritas Everything was super delicious with so much flavor We read some of the past reviews and people not liking to sit themselves at a table but honestly who cares The next day we had lunch and we had the barbacoa tacos , patty melt , turkey sandwich, carne asada fries, and fish tacos. They even gave us a small sample to try the pozole. Absolutely THE BEST. We could not stop telling them that the food was beyond delicious. The plates were well served and definitely worth the price. The Cove definitely tops any of the restaurants down at downtown Avalon. I would most definitely come and eat there again .”
