Coney Island West

Restaurant

“excellent option to eat well and save on this island, the food is very good. highly recommended.”

Topside by NDMK

Address: 708 Crescent Ave, Avalon, CA 90704, USA

Restaurant

“Topside by NDMK is a wonderful new addition to the Avalon dining scene. I visited about 3-4 weeks after they opened and overall had a really nice experience. The location on the top deck is open, breezy and provides some beautiful views. It's a great spot for a relaxing meal. The food was excellent - we tried the seafood risotto and chicken piccata and both were delicious. The risotto was creamy and flavorful with a variety of fresh seafood. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a tasty lemon caper sauce (I loved the addition of edible flowers and microgreens). While the food was great, the service was slow considering there weren't many other customers in the restaurant. It took quite a while just to get our drink order and to place our food order despite ample staff. I understand they just opened and are likely still working out some kinks in the service. Overall I would definitely recommend Topside and look forward to returning. Once they smooth out some of the service issues, I could easily see this being a 5 star dining experience. For now, the delicious food and beautiful location earn them 4 stars in my book. With a little more time to find their groove, Topside will be one of the top restaurants in Avalon.”

Three Palms Avalon Arcade

Address: 205 Crescent Ave, Avalon, CA 90704, USA

Bowling alley Store Restaurant

“Wonderful place to bring the kids after a long day of tourist activities! They were able to enjoy themselves with the variety of games here including air hockey, giant shooting games, and even bowling! It's nice that Avalon has this here for families traveling with children since so much of the island is geared towards adults relaxing and enjoying the view. This place uses point cards that kids use for playing the games and storing their tickets that they win from the games.”

The Cove Bar & Grill

Address: 888 Country Club Dr, Avalon, CA 90704, USA

Restaurant

“Stayed at the Catalina Canyon Inn and went out for lunch at the Cove. We were very surprised that the place was lonesome but we decided to give it a try. To our great surprise they had a very diverse menu and great service. Oh and not to mention they have happy hour from 3-6pm 🤗 We had carne asada fries and 2 rounds of buffalo wings and 2 rounds of margaritas Everything was super delicious with so much flavor We read some of the past reviews and people not liking to sit themselves at a table but honestly who cares The next day we had lunch and we had the barbacoa tacos , patty melt , turkey sandwich, carne asada fries, and fish tacos. They even gave us a small sample to try the pozole. Absolutely THE BEST. We could not stop telling them that the food was beyond delicious. The plates were well served and definitely worth the price. The Cove definitely tops any of the restaurants down at downtown Avalon. I would most definitely come and eat there again .”

NDMK Fish House

“Possibly the best fish and chips on the island. Shrimp burrito was so good and made up for the delayed service. Fries were fried to a crisp and a good side dish that goes well with any entrée. Place can get busy during meal times.”

Steve's Steakhouse and Seafood

Address: 417 Crescent Ave, Avalon, CA 90704, USA

Restaurant

“This was the best experience on the island as regards dining. It was Christmas Eve and we were lucky to not have to wait although it was full of people. Our server was Johnny and he was so great! The wait time was not long till our food came. We ordered the Buffalo Milk (yummy) and a pomegranate martini. The meal was so delicious and fresh, we got Scallops Avalon Style and Fresh Swordfish, so so good . They also offered bread and butter for additional $5, we did not get it though. It seems like they don’t take reservations, it’s first come first serve. 5 stars for sure!”

Our appetizer was jalapeño artichoke dip it was very good. They had a nice alcohol selection. Absolutely delicious!”

Toyon Grill & Cafe

Address: 708 Crescent Ave, Avalon, CA 90704, USA

Cafe Store Restaurant

“This is a great location at the end of the strip near the mole. Great views and decent prices with friendly staff. Some of the food was really good (pancakes were awesome), but unfortunately the hash browns, eggs and bacon were just super oily and greasy. I will still give this place another try on my next trip to the island (hoping we just caught them at a bad time), because the views are definitely worth it.”

Mi Casita

“First time eating here. Love it. I love that my table was located at an open window. Felt like I was a part of the outdoor atmosphere. Very tasty and reasonably priced margaritas. Lots of selections. I love the combo fajitas. Very tender meat and semi crunchy vegetables the way I like it. The staff was very friendly. Will return again.”

The Sandtrap

Address: Avalon Cyn Rd, Avalon, CA 90704, USA

Restaurant

“I stopped in here because it was the closest restaurant open to hermit gulch campground. I think it’s about a 10 minute walk. There was a sign that had cheap tacos for happy hour, so that’s what we ordered. Tacos and beer. It’s not at all a fancy place but the tacos were worth every penny and the beer was a fair price if you remember you’re on an island.”

Pancake Cottage

Address: 615 Crescent Ave, Avalon, CA 90704, USA

Restaurant

“Fun family-owned breakfast place. The skillet with a side of biscuits and gravy had me ready for a nap. Full bar for some hair o' the dog.”

Seaport Bistro

Address: 888 Country Club Dr, Avalon, CA 90704, USA

Restaurant

“Great food! Great service! One of the few places where the food and service are based on earning a repeat visit. Too many places have the “it’s an island resort so we don’t have to work to earn your business”, but not Seaport Bistro. Greg does a fantastic job with the menu and often is out in the dining area making sure you enjoyed your meal. Off the beaten path but they do have a shuttle (Holiday Inn hotel shuttle). All you can eat nights are awesome ... best Prime Rib I’ve ever had!”

Antonio's Pizzeria & Cabaret

“I came here twice over the weekend & I loved their margaritas! $10 for a big fishbowl glass that tasted delicious???? For dinner I had a shrimp pizza with roasted tomatoes and pesto sauce & the next day for lunch I had their homemade chicken pot pie???? Their chicken pot pie was sooo good I shared it with my friends and husband, Lol they all agreed it was super good. I don't remember what they ordered but they all liked their drinks and food too. The waiters were pretty busy but they still gave good service. I got so full I couldn't have dessert ???? both days I was there I didn't get dessert so I'll have to go back again. This restaurant has a good variety of foods.”
