“Viva Mexico, a big gem in a small town! I was greeted right away, along with a warm smile. I have eaten there three times and I am definitely going back. It was busy but I received my breakfast quickly, it was hot and flavorful, delicious. My plate was very appealing in appearance, which added to the taste. Esther and Myra are very pleasant to talk with and they were attentive to checking on want I needed. The atmosphere and music certainly added to my eating experience. Sonia and Rafael are very friendly I highly recommend stopping in to enjoy the food and service.”

“My oh my...this place is SSSOOOOO DELICIOUS! Friends who live in San Antonio told us we needed to try this restaurant that was owned by a couple in their neighborhood. From the first day we tried it, we have not been disappointed. Just to say that we've been twice within the past three days. Their Fried Crispy Chicken Sammie is amazing! Making it Nashville hot, makes it even better. Their fries are good, but their onion rings are crunchy and great as well. You gotta have their Artichoke Spinach dip as an appetizer. We've also had their burgers and the meat is so juicy and the bread has a sweet buttery taste. We finally tried some dessert today, and had the brownie with ice cream. It was so soft, chocolaty and filling. Can't forget to mention, the staff is always attentive.”

We did have a party of 8 and just a heads up there is a 18% gratuity add on for parties of 6+. I had the top butt 14oz Medium of course. Baked potato and house salad. Their sourdough like bread and butter is also awesome. All in all this is a must try.”

“Wow! What an awesome find!!!! The food was fantastic. The pork carnitas was absolutely phenomenal. Crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Fair amount of empanadas cooked perfectly. I did ask for more sour cream. Granted, it's pretty dirty looking and cats run around in the restaurant but food still tastes great. Wonder when the last time the Board of Health visited. If you're a trucker, don't eat at the Wendy's or Subway. Walk across the street to this place. You won't be disappointed.”

“If you are looking for a laid back Sunday snack place, this is the place for you! Located in the outskirts of Castroville along Hwy 90, Mr. Penguin offers a great variety of snacks. From Elote en vaso, to mangonadas, rusas and so much more! We had banana splits, to which we got to choose the flavor of the ice cream. The bananas were nice and fresh! We left with a rusa to go, and the flavor was just on point! There is a seating area to enjoy your snacks. Lovely place for a Sunday snack!”

“The atmosphere, service, and food at Dorn Michelle’s can’t be beat. A quaint place with a beautiful sunset view (we sat on the back patio then relocated to a table indoors due to the storm). We had the burger and the chicken wrap - both so delicious we shared our plates with one another. The wine spritzer was also wonderful. We can’t wait to go back!”

“The catfish is absolutely delicious. Fries, hush puppies and coleslaw were all good as well. The tarter sauce was delicious too. Reminds me so much of my favorite restaurant back home. I was quite disappointed that they didn't give me my 3rd catfish strip. I ordered a 3 piece fish basket, but when I got home I only had 2 pieces. Other than that, I have no complaints! Great food and friendly staff 👍🏽”
