The staff and most importantly the Administration is receptive to his needs and our families’ suggestions. The facility is always clean and no matter what time I visit, there has never been an unpleasant smell or unkind word. I have piece of mind knowing that his complex physical and mental and personal needs are being met. I am happy that the Nursing staff allow him to make some decisions about his care and encourage him to do things that he can to the best of his ability. They have their menu posted on the windows where you can decide what you want, order at the door, and pickup your order around towards the back of the store. Fun feature, you can people watch through the fish tank that has a view of the World Market. The staff was friendly and quick to serve us. I ordered the Tum Yum hot pot, which was delightful. It has a very strong lemongrass flavor and lots of veggies. I also got a Mango Strawberry Smoothie, which was amazing! So many other places add sweeteners, but they don't. It was subtly sweet from the fruit alone, just how I like it.”

“We had so much fun at Mary Ann’s Tea Room! 8 of us went for High Tea including a vegetarian and my girlfriend who is gluten free and we all had a lovely time. The ambience was perfect, we even had a lovely rain shower in the glass ceiling. Just exactly what we were looking for. Many people came dressed in Victorian or Edwardian dress, as this was our first time, we didn’t k ow the option of costumes, I recommend them they look like fun! What a wonderful afternoon! “Delicious soul food cooking! Ordered the chicken dinner with candied yams and macaroni and cheese. Everything was home cooked and plentiful! There was a wait which was to be expected because this is not a fast-food establishment. My wife and I ordered the same with the exception of the collard greens she had which were cooked using turkey! All dinners come with a drink. Total cost was about $23! We both left pleased and stuffed! A hidden gem in the Compton Heights neighborhood.”

Breakfast on sat. and sun. is 7am-10am and included sausage, scrambled and boiled eggs, potatoes, waffles, bread, bagels, mini muffins, hot and cold cereal, fruit, orange juice, apple juice, milk, water and coffee (which my husband described as better than Dunkin Donuts).”
