“Very nice coffee. Before visiting Hawaii I was told by others that it’s impossible to get a good espresso coffee (flat white or latte) on the Island/ but..every coffee had here was great. Expensive though..about $6-8 USD after a tip. Their service was fast and they knew how to make coffee that other cafes didn’t, eg Flat White, Espresso..etc.”

“The Pineapple Yacht was a must try of this ice cream shop. it located in a wired passway to the beach which was bit hard to find. Thankfully some one marked the entrance on google review. The Pineapple Yacht was made from local banana and is plant based. For me. the smooth taste beat most other diary free ice cream i have eaten. May is that made of the blue java banana AKA ice cream Banana. Any way i hope if they have develop a pineapple ice cream version of this pineapple yacht. Which will be more awesome. Recommend for everybody to try when visiting Wakiki.”

“I took a 2 hr private lesson with Trevor and had such an awesome, and tiring, experience that I immediately booked a second session a few days later, with Chad. Both instructors were great. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive. They both knew when to nudge me appropriately out of my comfort zone or when I needed some help with a paddle assist back out for another ride. The setting, Pops, was beautiful and waves were perfect both days. The online booking was easy, reliable and informative. Also the sense of humor in the FAQs was bonus. “Located on the second level above Poke Bar is this cute little quilt shop. They had the perfect gift for my mom. Also a great selection of upscale luxury jewelry. Friendly service that was helpful and talked us through the inventory. So glad we stopped in. Go up the escalator and walk down the balcony until it makes a slight curve. They are directly after the hallway to the restrooms.”

“Me and my wife came to Hawaii for our honey moon and we both have always wanted to surf. Our Surf instructor was the owner Ron for a private lesson and he was awesome!! Me and my wife got up the first time and actually got up like 5 times each. Ron was super friendly and knew a lot about surfing. He took us where all the waves were and even gave us a push each time to get us going. He also gave us recommendation on some great places to eat around the area. if you're coming to Waikiki beach and want to take surf lessons I wouldn't go anywhere else than beach boy hale. Prices are the best in town for lessons and pictures and Ron and his staff are the best!”

“Great experience! Although the sea was quite rough, the instructors made me stand and ride the waves. I booked a group lesson with James and Nika, they did a fantastic job. We were only 3 students, so we got a lot of rides for our money. The team was very friendly and explained everything in detail. I got great photos for additional 30$. The prices are really fair in comparison to other schools at Waikiki.”

Most, but not all of the anime potato chips, ramen, and suntory beverages were still in Japan, replaced by local faves like Hawaiian chips, poke plates, and Toro pancake mix (note: don't go to ABC store thinking they have this mix because they don't). Fun fact: this chain of convenience stores was originally American, started by Ohio dairy farmers and Consolidated Foods aka Sara Lee.”
