“I'll be honest, usually go to Whiskey Joe's or Hooters across the river but decided to go somewhere I haven't been. First impression walking up, typical Florida dive, not necessarily a bad thing. Interior appearance shows a good attempt, but if they brought in a designer, the setup they have could be amazing. On the edge of amazing, honestly. They had live music, and when I say live, I mean they had a man in front of a keyboard singing to canned music. Basic Yacht rock. He couldn't carry a tune if you put it in a bucket, just godawful, yet it was awesome. We sat in the outdoor covered bar area looking at the river, fantastic cross breezes, and watching boaters. Very relaxing. The wait staff was courteous. I had the banana bucket rum punch drink. It's really good. For food, we ordered appetizers first, the fried pickles and Gator tail nuggets. The pickles were thinning sliced, lightly breaded, and fried to a perfect crispness. The Gator tail came in a basket with fries and coleslaw. I had to call the waitress over to ask who made it, if it was done here, or if they ordered it in. I'll tell you that Gator is one of my favorite indulgences. I've had it all over Florida and in New Orleans. This was the absolute BEST I have ever had. The tenderness was nearly indescribable. Even the best prepared Gator has a little chew to it. This was melt in your mouth perfection. The seasoning was on point, not too heavily breaded and fried perfectly. I could have eaten my weight in it. Next up, the boom boom shrimp. Served on a bed of mixed greens, these little nuggets mirror their cousins bang bang shrimp from bone fish only better. Not overly spicy but a delicious sweet tangy flavor. Wrapped it up with the blackened grouper sandwich and coleslaw. It was the second serving of coleslaw, which was ok. Not great, not bad. The grouper, however, was simply amazing. Light, flaky, and not overly seasoned. Best Grouper I've had in a while. Next time, I'll just order the dinner plate instead of the sandwich because grouper that good doesn't need the bread. The downside is that the kitchen and service are a little slow, but once the food started coming, it was definitely worth the wait. They're definitely going to need more staff once people figure out that not only is the food fantastic, the prices are good too! I'll be back. A lot.”

The building was perfectly decorated for Christmas. We were lucky to see a small gator when we visited the dock. We chose to eat inside, but the outside seating looked great. It was all covered with a big bar in the middle. We are looking forward to coming back to take advantage of the outside dining and trying more from the menu!! What we ordered: Crab Rangoon, Creamy Chicken Gouda Pasta, Biscuits and Gravy (brunch menu), Cheese Burger, Chicken Tenders, and Seafood Pescatore (which is a bit spicy).”

“We LOVE this place!! The seafood pasta seafood dishes are delicious and portions are very generous. The blue crabs were seasoned and cooked to perfection! The atmosphere is very casual and the waitresses we have had have been so good and a pleasure to get to know them a bit. Great place! UPDATE as of 12/24/23 The name and menu have changed a bit. Still owned by the same Greek original owners, they had to remove "Crab house" from the original name because blue crabs are so hard to come by. In fact we paid $50.00 for a dozen. Outside of that they have removed some of their lower selling seafood dishes and replaced with some really great authentic Greek food! Even Greek fish dishes! They left their best selling seafood dishes so we had seafood during our Christmas Eve visit but we will DEFINITELY be going back to try some of their Greek dishes next! Still love this place!”

We picked up the order in 10-15 minutes and it was ready. Every food we ordered was hot and seems like it was freshly made. For the dinner we ordered Fried Gyoza, Miso Soup, Krab Rangoon, Hibachi Chicken with Rice, Hibachi Shrimp with Rice and Hibachi Shrimp with Noodles. First we started with soup, gyoza and krab rangoon. All the food items were tasty and delicious especially krab rangoon. It was freshly cooked and amazing. “Wow! We have always stayed in chain hotels and decided to try this place for a change. And we will be staying here every time we visit NPR! Not only has the building been beautifully renovated in a way that honors the historic value, the staff is top notch and the room was amazing. We were warmly welcomed upon checkin. As we entered our room the first thing I noticed was how good it smelled. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean - seriously, housekeeping is top notch!! While the room is a bit small - there’s not much you can do to change 1927 architecture. The hacienda makes up for it with the character of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. Thank you!!”

“I've been driving by this restaurant for over a year meaning to stop in. I finally made the time to do so yesterday and was quite pleased. It's the type of restaurant you'd expect to find in small local town with the owner greeting you and asking what he can get for you. Not much to look at, but like I said it's a local place like you might find in a Mexican village. Good food! I told him I needed to get something to eat and drink. The menu was hand written and without my glasses hard to read so he went through the menu until I stopped him at burritos. Make this short, I think his mother was cooking and she made me a wonderful beef, bean, rice burrito that you only get from a traditional Mexican mother that's doing the cooking.”
