“Authentic Afghan food and probably the best in the San Francisco Bay Area by far. A business associate brought us here for dinner and we had the Bolani filled with potatoes & one with Leeks as appetizers. They were not only tasty but most importantly not greasy. For the main entrees we had the Kabuli rice Which is rice with shredded carrots and raisins. I’m not a rice fan so the fact I went for a 3rd portion is incredible in itself. The next entree was a platter of kebabs, Which included the grilled Chicken Tikka. The Beef Kebab (Grilled sirloin) again not something I go for at Afghan/Persian restaurants but, this was so soft I could cut with my fork. The next grilled meat was like a Persian Koobedieh or Kafta kebab but with flavor and not bland. The last meat was a Chapli Kebab which is a flattened beef kebab that was also on the Money. Even the green chutney was not too spicy. I have eaten at Afghan restaurants in London, NYC & the Bay Area and can truly say I have found my new favorite to go for Afghan food.”

“I wanted a Mom ‘n Pop greasy spoon burger, onion rings, and a delicious handmade shake, and that’s exactly what I got. The cashier was friendly, the order was perfect and accurate, and they don’t skimp on beef or condiments. I’ll eat here every time I come back to the area. Thanks, ladies!”

“Love this place, definitely my go to in Newark. The lady that works there is always so nice. They give you a to go box stuffed with whatever you order for about $10 each. Everything I tried is so good except the Mongolian beef but I only like it from a couple places so might just be my taste buds. Also the broccoli beef is mostly broccoli so I don’t get that anymore but everything else is great and good portions.”

“I love this location so much! I'm always far more satisfied with my coffee at this location than any other. I think it helps that this is not a busy location and there's no drive-thru. Since it's not busy, it's really not a big deal going inside. There's plenty of space and it's very easy to practice social distancing due to the store's layout.”

“My wife and I, visiting from Upstate NY, happened to come across this restaurant when exiting the highway to get some relief from heavy traffic due to an accident on I-880. It was a very nice find, the food was great (I had a turkey club and wife had a veggie crepe with fresh fruit and orange juice), service was good even though the staff made minimal contact due to covid. The only drawback was the food was pricey, in my opinion, and didn’t seem worth $50, but then again this place is located in the “Bay Area” (higher cost of living). I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from the chain restaurant experience.”

“Love this place. They have really good prices and you get a lot of food. They are fast and the food is great. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Restaurant is clean and welcoming. They have the option to either get plates/combos to go from the hot and ready bar or you can be seated in the dining area and order to eat there (just not right now due to covid-19). The dining area decor is very cool too in my opinion.”
