“Ordered off a Delivery app. It came packaged perfectly! I’m from East Texas, my significant other is from Covington La. Ordered jambalaya, seafood pasta and Cajun fries. I was surprised at just how spicy the jambalaya was(and we live off extremely spicy Cajun food during the winter l). It was still really good, though. I let the slice wear off from the rice before trying and seafood pasta and it was the right level of spicy! Large enough portions for good prices. Some of the better packaging practices too! I’d love to try the fish or the potato sometime when I’m back in town.”

“Plenty of street parking available, takes cash and card and serves food during the day and Tea till close. There are some cool seats in the windows sills, but otherwise a few two-tops line the walls with some comfy chairs to complement them. The music is chill and the ambience is great! And what a unique place...where else will give you free tea for simply picking up some trash from Grand Ave? It's this kind of stuff that's lacking in this world! Plus, the tea is DELICIOUS and thoughtfully steeped/brewed. There is a great selection available on the boards, but they also have a "build your own tea" area with lots of cool options to choose from. Not a tea expert? Totally fine, just ask all the questions you want, as the staff is friendly and ready to help. Plus, they're open late on weekends! Really dig this cool and unique space both for their tea and food offerings as well as the creativity and love for the community. Please swing by when you're in the area--definitely recommended! Just wanted to come back here and add that today I had the frittata with arugula salad and "seedy toast" and it was delicious!”

“Remember that tv show from the 70's called "Alice"? The diner from that show was about a half mile from where my family and I stayed in Phoenix. We enjoyed a nice breakfast and excellent service from the friendly staff at Mel's Diner. The walls are lined with coffee mugs signed by guests and the menus feature photos of the cast. Fun visit and good old fashioned diner food. The biscuits and gravy are just okay. Hash browns could be crispier. Chicken fried steak and corned beef hash were excellent as well as the coffee. The service is great. Would visit again!”

“Food was delicious! Came out fast- and was very fresh and hot (salad was cold!) fries with burger were lightly seasoned and very flavorful. Dressing on salad had a multidimensional flavor with a lot of depth. Got chicken on my salad and it was dry- so dunking if it in dressing helped. The tea was not regular black, but had a light fruit flavor I couldn’t put my finger on. Service was slow (minus one star) and even though my tea glass was at the end of the table the server walked by a dozen times never asking if I needed more- I had to ask for every refill as did my dinner mate. Other than that a please y experience.”

Beware that this location is on campus and therefore becomes very busy during lunch (except during the summer). I don't typically review fast food locations, however the staff here is awesome. Many of those that take orders up front will remember regulars by their first names, ready to input their usual order. Special shout out to Dorota, who is as genuine and as hard-working as it gets. Plus, Miss Patty is always there keeping the spot squeaky clean and ready to ask customers how they are doing. At the end of the day, you already know that the food is going to be good, but swing by here for a great experience along with the delicious chicken!”

“Good food and friendly service! I got the soft shell crab and the two sushi roll lunch special. Both the crab and sushi were delicious and fresh. The sushi rice was a little extra, but they weren’t cheap on the salmon. Service took a little bit, but they just might not have been prepared for all the people who came to the hotel for conferences. I would recommend going for lunch!”

“My friend and I left our movie at the AMC24 and wandered into the Arizona Center looking for a place for dinner. The entrance to 1130 The Restaurant looked inviting, with several out door tables and propane heater. We opted for inside dining on this chilly evening. Cameron, our personable server, seated us and promptly took our drink orders. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions on what were his favorite items. I love when my server does this! Cameron returned with complimentary honey cheese bread and our house Cabernets - reasonably priced at $6.95. The menu offers a great assortment of dinner options, from steaks to pasta and salads and sandwiches.”
