“David is a wealth of information about farming and alpacas! He is so welcoming. Our kids got up close and personal with alpacas safely with David’s guidance. We rented three of the yurts with two other families and enjoyed this unique stay. One highlight was the hike down to the river, which took 20-30 minutes each way. Soaking our feet in the cold mountain water on a hot day felt divine. We brought things to grill on the communal BBQ and were appreciative of the showers after a day of farm smells on our bods. :) We loved Lila’s Cafe in Granite Falls for coffee, brunch, and ice cream.”

“Nice military campground on JBLM. There are plenty of spacious sites in a shady forest. Sites with hookups can be reserved and dry sites are available on a first come, first served basis. We stayed at a dry site for a weekend, so the shade trees were nice. Fresh water and a dump station were available on site. The only downside to staying on an Air Force base was getting woken up by aircraft on the nearby airfield! Access is limited since it is on a military base.”

“This is a very awesome camp ground for family and friends, there was a fantastic camp post but they unfortunately have left and there is no longer a post. The river is amazing, there's plenty of fun to be had down there. There are about 10 camping spots, ranging from small to big, and there are some spots you can put trailers, boats, and RV's.”

“A true gem in the heart of the Hood Canal . Extremely well managed from owners on site and off course the soul of the outfit is Mike who runs the day to day camping operation . The facilities are Always clean and well taken care off. WiFi is strong and healthy . The store is super well stocked with some real local culinary goodies as well local art. For emergency fishing needs you find it all. You run out of spices a nice bulk selection where you can buy quantities to your needs - think all the crab boil you need to cook . You can rent a crab boiler on site . A lovely place to spend time as well in the fall for hikes and outdoor adventures. Well done keep it up we will see each other again. Andreas”

“I have lived here for roughly 5 years. Overall its really good. I almost gave it a 3 because of the rules and the way some rangers act like big government authority almost and they will make you get a permit, then 6 months later tell you that you can't do something that you already got a permit for, which infuriates me like crazy. They need some more common sense instead of acting like the members are criminals at times. That being said its not a bad cost to live here, there are plenty of people that work here that are very kind, and having access to the lake and things like that are great. I could write a novel, but will leave it at that for now. My only advice to the staff is BE KIND, this isn't the united states corporation military, this is our home show some respect. Having said that, I overall recommend it. You guys train your staff better and use some more commons sense and work together more, I would give this a 5. Just be consistent please. Thanks!”

“Beautifully appointed and clean room with cute rustic decor (hotel unit). It was so nice to have ample counter space in the bathroom (a rarity in accommodation!) and a large shower. It was also nice to have all the toiletries in large refillable dispensing bottles instead of the usual wasteful little plastic bottles. Nice thoughtful touches throughout…wish we could have stayed longer. (The restaurant was excellent also—we shared the largest brownie/ice cream dessert ever!)”

Pristine and beautiful grounds, restrooms cleaner and nicer than some hotels we've stayed at. Wish we were able to stay longer. “Love this campground. No hookups and a vault to toilet.. the road is the only thing that separates the sites from the ocean. But on a sad note they have raised the price to $25 a night. In my opinion it is too much for a dry camp. I don't think I will camp here again for that reason.”

“Had a great time here off season (December 2021) trying out a new trailer. Very clean site, pretty close too level, convenient hookups, and close to the beach. We got lucky with some breaks in the weather at low tide and we're able to take our dog on a great beach walk. During this time of year only one station has water for septic cleaning out and it was easy and convenient to use. Looking forward to coming back in warmer weather.”

“Went to Mission Adventure Camp for a tactical training mission. Detailed briefings had been sent to all participants 24 hours before the mission, with very thorough detail and intentionally set up to create some interesting and challenging situations organically during the training exerc. All equipment needed was either detailed in our briefing documents or provided for us when we got there. Safety protocols and equipments checks were thorough and well implemented both before and during the training exercise. Afterward we debriefed the situation - what each of us observed and experienced, our lessons learned and how we wish we would have reacted to specific situations differently, and how we handled the limited information we had to start to inform our decision making throughout the exercise. Extremely valuable training, I recommend to anyone looking to increase their tactical awareness and confidence in high pressure tactical situations.”

“Love this fair! By ourselves or with kids and grandkids, it never disappoints. From the animals, display halls, food options, carnival rides and shows. Every year we enjoy it. If you have children or bringing grandchildren definitely get the wristband and you'll save a lot of money on the carnival rides. “Where to begin?? I just came home and had to immediately give credit to Cheryl for opening this home to the public. Along with David, who does maintenance, they have made this place truly a special getaway. This was a last minute trip (booked the day before) so we didn't know what to expect. However, immediately it felt like home! Cheryl and David were generous and treated each other with respect which we loved to see! Although we packed as if we were moving in, Cheryl provides guests with more than enough in the kitchen and bathroom! They had rentals...so we chose a canoe. David took a picture of us and printed us copies (2 for us and 1 for us to sign and they plan to display with the others) I thought this was a really nice touch! Another thing I loved was that they accommodated my dog - he was basically on vacation too! I really hated leaving this place but I am blessed to know what and who we are coming back to. Thank you David and Cheryl you made my last minute birthday trip something to remember! We will see you again!”

“Great campground! The park Ranger was very helpful when checking in. Upper loop camp hosts were very nice. Site 21 does have a slight slope to it, but it wasn't a problem for us. And it goes great with 20 if you are camping with friends as they are open to each other.”
