“I was very impressed with Abundant Earth Fiber. My partner and I specifically chose to go there first on a recent daytrip through Whidbey Island and we were not disappointed. We visited around 11am on a Saturday. It is very close to the Clinton ferry dock which is pretty convenient. We looked around at the vast selection of yarn in a plethora of materials and colors. I have a deep appreciation for handcrafted knitted goods, but there were yarn materials I had not encountered before. I also think the concept was great. They have services to spin yarns of different materials as well as dyeing yarn. They also hold many events which makes it a great community spot. Finally I was happy to have come across such supportive and kind people at Abundant Earth Fiber. Everyone, especially Leah and Lucy, were great to work with and supportive if my partner had any concerns about knitting. We are hoping to return soon.”

“My right rear turn signal went out and having heard good things about them, I called Simmons to see if they could replace it anytime soon. Much to my surprise, anytime soon was just a few hours later. Clearly this was a very busy garage with rigs parked all over. Despite that, the guys took me right away and in no time had me back on the road. They only charged me for the new bulb as they said what they did wasn’t really labor. Everyone was friendly and now I know where to take my ride when something more complicated goes wrong! Can’t say enough good things about Simmons!! Lisa”

“Insulating a metal stock tank with marine vinyl fabric over foam insulation works great! This photo was taken around 1995 and the whole setup is still in good shape in 2022. What I like most about the the combination of vinyl, foam, and metal tank is that it's very light so easy to move, it's easy to keep clean, and it's inexpensive and durable. My cabin is in Southeast Alaska and I visit it several times a year for a several weeks at a time. When I depart it takes me about 30 minutes to disassemble the plumbing, remove the stovepipe and rinse out the tank. I flip the tank over and slide it into the cabin by myself no problem. With the insulation, I can leave the tank hot at night and it's ready for a morning soak with little or no fire (depending on the outdoor temperature). That saves a lot of firewood. If you go this way, I suggest following Island Hot Tub's "Instructions for Making a Soaking Tub Using a Metal Stock Tank". For the tub's drain I just use a tapered plug like you'd use in a sink rather than a valve, much simpler. The metal tank/Chofu setup has been so much fun for my family and kept us all clean and happy off the grid for 20 years with zero problems. Can't ask for more than that.”
