“We had our work Christmas party here last year but it was only about 15 people. This year we've grown tremendously to about 45 attending. Which left a bit of a daunting task to find a place not already booked or that was willing to take on that large of a reservation Decided to check with Sumo after being turned down by several other establishments. Although they seemed a little scared of that big of a group, they happily took the reservation. I too was a little nervous about how things would go but they surpassed my expectations. The staff exhibited exceptional efficiency, amiability, and a flair for entertaining, leaving us thoroughly impressed. Four tables and four cooks orchestrated the evening seamlessly, supported by very attentive staff members attending to our needs throughout the event. Of course the food was absolutely amazing. She got it right both times. She gives great customer service and she sees to it the chicken sandwiches are perfect! The first time I went inside for takeout and the second time I used the drive thru for takeout. Gwen made both visits better.”

“Truly a Five Star dining (lunch) experience, both food and service. We went there after church, we had different items, & we all left there full, satisfied, and happy. I had, and recommend, the Knockwurst with chili, mustard, relish, & sauerkraut, with fries. Our waitress, 'Jackie', was nothing short of outstanding. She was prompt in coming to our table and she always came by at the right times, not too much & not too little. She was genuinely pleasant/friendly, efficient, helpful, & she was intelligent/fast on the uptake. We made a 'fun' game of asking everyone the 'hotdog questions' printed on the tables, and then Jackie brought us the answer sheet. A good time had by all.”

“This restaurant never fails to satisfy! Most folks probably drive right past it and never notice it’s existence but if you’re looking for great Mexican food, this is your place. Every time I go I get a table right away, food comes out fast and it’s fresh hot and high quality. Never disappointed. Great atmosphere!! “Visited for the first time today while vacationing at the beach. The hostess was friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic…fresh, large portions, and great quality. Loved the unique touches like the pickled onions and tomatoes on the sandwiches, and the brown sugar butter for the biscuits. The sweet potato biscuits with ham and red pepper jam were delicious and better than others I’ve had in the area. The sandwiches are huge (a half portion option would be great), and quite messy but well worth the sticky fingers and extra napkins. Very clean and comfortable atmosphere, and clean restrooms! One of our new “regulars” for sure when we come back to the beach!”

“We love this cute little hangout! Very kid friendly this is our second summer but third time visiting with our whole family! They have corn hole and outside games! We all love the Crushes! They have two “separate” front and back menu ones more sea food and the other is more BBQ/taco/burgers! Very great options! We got the crab dip with pita chips (not pictured) and we got the pork lumpia and some burritos! All were great! Amazing atmosphere and service!”

“Had my first Waffle House experience when I was down for a wedding in late September 2023. The very friendly waitress told me for first time I had to get waffles. Well, that's what I wanted anyway! Then she said no honey, you have to try the flavored waffles. She had me at chocolate peanut butter waffles. I also got a side of hash browns, eggs, and bacon. The waffles were very good, I expected no less. The eggs were good. The bacon cooked perfectly. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Considering how slow things move in the south the Waffle House is the exception. Everything came out hot, fast, and delicious.”

“I have to tell everyone out there. You must try the fish sandwich. It wasn’t just the size of the fish sandwich. It was the type of battering. It was the moistness of the fish and I have to give David a lot of kudos. My mother and I were there twice on two different weekends and his service is nothing less than five star. I think that is the best fish sandwich I have ever had in my life and the night before I had a fish sandwich at another restaurant absolutely no comparison at all. I will 100% make a point to come by the restaurant for their great service and great food. Every time I come to Virginia Beach there’s no way I could not come back there.”

I went to pick it up and the staff member came in and serviced me immediately. He was very polite and friendly! I ordered the medium buffalo wings and curly fries. “This is some of the best BBQ I’ve had in Virginia. This local small business makes everything in house and provides top quality meats, sides and even makes their own desserts.
