“Peace of Mind Pest Services came to our rescue when birds made their home in our vent. We tried initially to remove them ourselves. Unaware of the mites that live in birds nests we went quickly from having a bird problem to have a bird mite problem. Ugh! Peace of Mind was already on contract to perform our quarterly pest maintenance so I knew who I could call. Steve came out right away and took care of the mite problem. I was so relieved! Several months later we heard a bird in a different vent (which I had planned to cover myself). I called Steve and he came out right away and removed the beginnings of a nest and once again treated the area to ensure that no mites came into the house. He also covered the vent so that new birds could not get into the vent. Steve is always prompt, friendly, and thorough in the service he performs for us quarterly. I compared prices and Peace of Mind Pest Services is very competitive. Thank you for providing exemplary service.”

“Bothy Lavender Farm. Our first impression was simply how beautiful the property was and the fields were beyond gorgeous. The shop where we made our wands, which included the store was unique and simply captivating. They accepted all payment types, including credit cards. This farm is cutting edge and simply a rare diamond waiting to be discovered by crowds of Northern Virginia! Anita started with the handicapped accessible lavender field. We were able to wave our hands back and forth between the different lavender plants and smell the backs of our hands and smell the scent differences between all 11 types of lavender are grown at the farm. All of us had our own favorites. Part of the tour was education about Lavender and it was really great! They had an ACTUAL statue lavender horse selfie area! We got some great pictures and that it was a nice touch. It reminded me of all of the horse statues in the Outer Banks, but one dedicated to the Lavender! We then went into the shop and began to make our wands. The girls each picked out their color for the ribbons for the wands, got baskets and scissors and we headed back to the fields. The older girls were able to cut their own lavender straight from the bushes for their wand. We then began the weaving process. And we all drank Lavender Lemonade and laughed and had such a great time while we made the wands! The wand making was so fun for girls and even the adults! I would HIGHLY recommend this as part of any adult girl’s trip / girl’s day out or any activity of that nature because it was THAT fun even for us adults. I simply cannot wait to make another wand – I would really like to go back with my friends! While we were making the wands, Anita was so amazing. I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful her personality is and how approachable she is; how patient she is with children (even us adults!) and how she just seems like the type of genuine person who loves people and wants to make the experience at their Lavender farm as great as it can be! That is probably what separates them most from any other type of farm we have ever been to—the bottom line being they’re just deep down great people who genuinely care about their customers. What I ended up purchasing at the store was for my kids-- it was a recipe package for them to make Lavender cookies, another for scones and culinary lavender (to have extra after we run out!). My kids are so excited at the idea of making cookies and with the Lavender that they actually saw grown at the Lavender farm. My sister also got the bath salts, amazing! They sold so many wonderful products. My favorites personally were the handmade earrings and necklaces, sachets, lotion, recipe packages (make sure to buy extra culinary lavender so you can make more and more, they will go quick once you discover how good they are!!) and the list goes on and on! You can even buy lavender wands already made if you are not into crafts. Their handmade products--- exquisitely branded “Lavender and Lace” reminded me of a LOCAL Etsy shop! An Etsy shop where you do not pay shipping and get to browse the products in person! Any of these would be wonderful gifts, especially for the Holiday season! I also learned that Anita makes the shell necklaces and earrings through the art of tattering. She says she offers lessons, and even kids can learn to tatter! This is something my girls and I would also love to do in the future—or even friends! I watched her tatter, fell in love with the art and have to say it is a pretty awesome understated craft! All in all, I have to say that this is hands down THE BEST farm I have ever been to with my girls. It was such an educational experience for the kids, and SO fun to craft at the same time! Thank you Bothy Lavender Farm for the experience of a lifetime. My family has such fantastic, happy memories from last Sunday that we will never forget our time at your farm! We will be back to visit soon!!”
