“So last night I was driving my 2012 Kia Optima back from the casino and all of a sudden it stopped working. Called Kia for roadside assistance and they called me a tow as well as the police because I was directly in the middle of the road. First on the sence was a Big guy from Auto In Motion Towing, what had happened was the police called a different tow company. I explained the situation and he was very understanding even at 4:30am on a Saturday morning. The police showed up and told me it can’t be in the road so I told them we would push it. The tow driver offered to use his lights but once again we were on a hill. I talked to the tow driver and he said it’s usually $200 for a police ordered tow but he would charge me the $100 min to move it to a near by parking lot for me. While unloading the car off his truck Kia calls and tells me it will be 3hrs before someone shows up for s tow. So it’s now 5am 20 degrees out and we’re stranded until Mr. Tow truck man offers me a ride to the diner to keep warm! The police officer took my other two friends and we all met there. End of the day it always feels sketchy getting a tow but these folks/ locals out near Mountainhome PA are really nice people. If you guys read this, thanks guys. You were awesome!!!”

“Nice local ice cream shop. Perfect stop on a hot summers day. Plenty of hard ice cream choices, water ice (Italian ice) as well as soft serve with the ability to make shakes, sundaes, and artic swirls (soft serve with a blended in topping like Oreos, Snickers, or Reese's cups). There are generous servings especially with the artic swirls and shakes. Just note that this ice cream place is cash only, no credit cards accepted! However, the Mountain home diner right next door is a great place to grab a meal and they take card.”

“What I love about this place is that it is throw back to the time when you didn't have the big box stores and everything was done in a smaller more personal setting. You went to the local hardware store and the staff would recognize you say good morning and how can I help you , ask about your day, share a joke or two and get the stuff you needed and be on your way, and this would happen each and every time you needed something. Yes honey I'll run to the hardware store, as long as it's Steele's. I hope this never changes...just a quick bonus they have a really cool gift shop upstairs full of holiday decorations, great woman's handbags, lotions creams and more. Something for everyone. ????”
