“The blooming onion was so good! The fried catfish melted in your mouth, and the stuffed clams were delicious! We did get some perch too, but it wasn't descaled properly. The manager refunded us and made sure everything else was perfect. The wait staff was attentive and quick. My only true complaint was the inside of the restaurant is wide open with no sound absorption, so it was really loud.”

“JJ’s Mama’s lived up to the HYPE. JJ’s was featured on Hungry Black Man Instagram page. I drove all the way from Charlotte to check out the food and it did not disappoint. Unfortunately, their restaurant was not open during the visit but I was still able to try their food at a fair location down the street. The Soul Bowl had so much flavor. The oxtails were seasoned to perfection and the Mac and cheese was very cheesy. The sweet potatoes and cornbread were amazing!”

“I love it when I have a story behind a restaurant. I was on my way back to Thomasville from Winston and kept thinking. I wish there was something else in this area as far as a restaurant. I was really in a burger mood. I know about Cagney's which is great .. I worked hard this morning and really didn't want to wait until I was all the way back to Thomasville to eat. So when I was in the direct epicenter of where, I wanted to find a place. I saw a strip mall kind of back and up to the left. I thought the odds are small of something being in this place. But I've never been up here, so I'm gonna look. Sure enough there was a Thunder Road bar and grill. I had my apprehensions since I am a non drinker. But I guess the bar part is just open on. The bar part is just open evenings? So I wondered in this sharp but slight Is little sandwich shop. I was impressed the minute that I walked in the door without cleaning it was. The waitress was very prompt, friendly. Courteous and glad to answer my questions. And in a reasonable amount of time, I was served a true chargrilled burger on a brioche bun. Really nice. And they were happy to give me a salad instead of french fries. And I was happy to find out that it was true homemade buttermilk ranch dressing. This was a really nice experience and a really good fast meal. Again, this is another one of those. I would love it if there was a 4.5.... I will be back. I really loved the taste of the burger. OH! My meal - salad and drink was less than ten dollars!!!!”

“The original place we were planning on going ended up being temporarily closed so we chose here. No regrets! The food was really good. We were going to have the buffet but they only do that certain hours of the day. We ordered a Philly pizza, an app and a kids toasted cheese. The kids toasted cheese was huge ! And less then $4! The pizza has very high quality cheese that reminded me of the pies I’d get in NYC. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and attentive.”

It was delicious, not too hot and loaded with jumbo shrimp...much more than the 6 I was expecting. The shrimp fried rice and crab rangoon were excellent. “It's like Mayberry and BBQ came together. The atmosphere was great, and there was a lot of decor to remind you that you are definitely in a BBQ restaurant. The service was exceptional and friendly. It was almost completely at capacity, but the service was super fast. They have that down to pat. We had the BBQ sandwich with slaw and fries. The sandwich had so much mest in it that half of it fell off, and we gad to scoop it up with our forks! It also comes with a side of NC BBQ sauce that I just ended up dipping my sandwich in. They are also smart and bring you a little pitcher of you tea so that the servers aren't tied up going back and forth refilling drinks! Smart, seeing how busy they were and how proficient the service was. It was a delicious lunch to satisfy us while traveling through Lexington. The only thing that may be a little frustrating is that with it being so busy, finding a good parking spot might be a little tricky. But, it's not bad and well worth it. The amount of business we saw coming in reassured us that this little spot is hopping and had to have good BBQ! Recommended to stop in, and we will be back!”

Also after having delivered supplies to several BK stores on the east coast in the past has seriously turned me off to the place due to how disgusting they all were. We had no other real choices this day so we stopped, my girlfriend loves BK. So I gave in and ordered a chicken sandwich instead of a burger. While I won't go out of my way to eat at BK any time soon, this visit was good. The store was clean, including bathrooms. The service was pleasant and prompt. The food was made correctly, fresh and hot. I can't really find anything to complain about this location.”

“Popped in for a late lunch takeout. They offer $1.00 tacos everyday. They are small [one tortilla instead of double that you sometimes see]. They were small but tasty and they are just a dollar. I got the Barbocoa, pork, asada and chicken. They were freshly made with meat, onions and cilantro. [Exactly how a real street taco is made]. My dining partner picked the chicken quesadilla and she enjoyed it thoroughly. She gave me a bite of it and it was quite good. I also got a huge fried bread/dough sprinkled with sugar. My dining partner liked it alot. My entire meal was less than $10 for all of it. There were three sauces in the bag: green [fantastic], red [garlicky and good] but the star of the show was this creamy green sauce that I would get everytime and I wish every 'real' Hispanic place had a sauce this tasty.”
