“CoPart for the win! ISUZU vehicles and parts are becoming harder and harder to find. 2 weeks ago I slid off of our driveway after an ice storm and smashed in to a 35 year old pine tree. We planted the trees from seedlings on our family property in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I was injured and pretty disappointed to say the least. When I returned home to Clayton, just east of Raleigh, North Carolina, I began the hunt for a replacement ISUZU. There were only eight 2nd Gen Troopers for sale at every auto auction across the United States. One was in Washington state, one in LA, California and another was in Anchorage, Alaska. So, I really had 5 that I could bid on realistically. CoPart had one up for auction in Mebane, North Carolina. In the 10 website pictures it looked interesting. I called the location to schedule a time that I could come inspect the vehicle before the auction. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon I was told by 2 different men that I absolutely could NOT inspect the suv in person, because it was up for auction that DAY. CoPart’s website clearly stated in text that anyone could inspect any vehicle up for auction all the way up to one HOUR before auction. I bid a low amount that Monday night and it was a no sale. The next day, Tuesday, it was up for auction again and I bid $25 more sight unseen. Again the ISUZU was a no sale. Wednesday would be the 3rd attempt to move the vehicle, through online sale, off of the lot. I called and spoke to a 3rd CoPart employee and she knew the actual rules of viewing ANY car up for auction. I went and spent 2 hours checking the Trooper out. That Wednesday night I stayed with my bid, not raising it a penny. I had to consider all of the broker and auction fees that would be tacked on. By Thursday I was still on the hook for my bid up until 6:00pm that day. The seller caved and took my offer. I picked up the burgundy Trooper after hours on Friday and transported it to my property. I’m thrilled with my purchase and I saved another ISUZU from the car crusher. The young lady that I dealt with deserves 10 stars. The two men get a single star from me for not having a clue about their employees’ actual rules.”
