“My dog n I have spent many hours here wandering the trails. It's quiet n beautiful. Rough outdoor hiking trails. But parking in winter is treacherous as they almost never plow the parking area off the street. The big parking lot north of the creek is usually locked. The restroom is always locked unless someone has rented the pavilion, so come prepared for roughing it. Since COVID-19, the trash barrels are often overflowing. But there is an abundance of wildlife and birds, as the Roger Tory Peterson bird sanctuary is semi across the street.”

“I honestly have nothing but great things to say about this campground! One of my favorite things about this campground was the location of the pool and the view that it offers. It sits on top of a hill and the view of the mountains in the background are truly amazing. The only thing I would say if you are visiting is to do a tour of the sites if you just want power and water. Those sites sit on the top of the property and some seemed to be small. I can’t believe I haven’t heard of this place before but it will be our first choice in the future. The price was very reasonable compared to other campgrounds. We stayed 3 nights and are already looking forward to our next booking and even considering doing a seasonal site. The price for that was extremely reasonable compared to what I heard other people are paying. With a small deposit, you can even store your camper over the winter there. Well done Frosty Acres, well done.”

“The Rucker!! After Uncle Drew balled out here, I had to come see for myself. The actual court is actually very nice, and the hoops are not double-rim. They have glass backboards and there is lots of room on bleachers. I was able to come and see a tournament being held by one of the Rucker Legends, Hammer Stevens. The announcer/commentator was the highlight of the visit. He brought the energy, and the descriptions were hilarious!”

“Very nice sanctuary with an easy walk through the woods. It was lightly raining when we went so there was no one else around. The birds also decided to stay at home as we only saw a couple chickadees, a sparrow, and crows. We did see a pretty large hawk hanging out in a tree too. Would much rather go during a nice sunny spring day but we still had a peaceful, relaxing visit!”

The public loos are unbelievably beautiful too. There is also a lovely space with a couple of trolleys full of books that anyone (I think) can read and there is a few small sets of children's chairs too. One of the trolleys was full of books for children ♥️🇺🇲”

“Was lucky enough to be in the city to see the Tulip Festival. Absolutely beautiful…. Over 10000 tulips with so many beautiful colors. On display until mid May. If you get the chance it’s spectacular. The gardens are privately owned and run by volunteers. Many nice events here like concerts, opera Shakespeare festival and more.”

“Park is incredibly smaller now due to the construction to make it safer during storms. Construction has been moving along slowly but moving forward nonetheless. Excited to see the end result. Dog park is open very dark at night and needs lights in the dog park and path to the ferry. (Pic below) Baseball field is open Restrooms are open and typically well maintained. Small grass areas are open, and great events are still being held in the park for the community.”

“This was our first time at this campground. The staff are friendly and our site was large and level, which is hard to get. When we found out they had fish fries on Friday, we ordered 4. They were absolutely delicious! So crisp, hot, and not greasy at all. We truly enjoyed our time there and we will definitely be going again!!”

“Westwood Park is such a beautiful park to visit. There's a walking path that is superb. You can walk or ride your bike as the path has lanes for each. There is a calming pond in the middle of it with ducks, geese, and I even saw a crane there last summer. It's hilarious to watch the ducks or geese come in for a landing in the water! The visitors are always friendly as they walk by themselves or with their dogs. There are also restrooms in the main building.”

“The building is falling apart despite conservation. They no longer allow people to get close to take pictures due to possible falling debris and possible collapse around the main building, but you can still go into the summer home, where the exhibit is. The $40 ticket is pricey but part of it goes into the impossible conservation here. Any instagrammable exhibit in NYC would've cost the same or more without the same historical importance and significance. The island is small and the tour only leads you thru a small section of the island that is safe and tended to by the garden club, which is still unnecessarily far away from the main castle. If you want a really close shot and explore all the other buildings lingering around the island, kayak may be a better option, but you might miss out from the detailed historical tour. Not sure if kayaker can get ashore, as they reserve the pier for their tour ferry. Other spots of the island, away from the main popular spots, are not rigorously maintained aside from having an obvious trail to walk on; dont expect pretty garden all over the island. That said, they do diversify to other theatrical activity on the island, such as Dracula show during Halloween season. Definitely a gem on the Hudson, not to be missed. Oh, not wheel chair friendly, and dont eat there. Just eat and go to bathroom before the tour. Have a good time!”

“Beautiful park smack in middle of a regular Brooklyn block. Tons of space to sit and relax, park is usually empty/very few people at all times of day, park is also open 24/7 (officially its 6am - 1am). Interesting rock with historical references in middle of the park, if your nearby definitely recommend checking out. If you go on a clear night you are able to see a few stars above 🤩 but not too many :/.”

“Cannot say enough good words about Fort Hyde! I have a high energy, high needs escape artist dog with lots of anxiety who has been kicked out of boarding other places for having too high of needs or being too much to care for. Fort Hyde takes such great care of him, always accommodating his needs without an issue rather than being annoyed or making us feel bad, always making my dog and my family very comfortable leaving our dogs here. Staff is very friendly and they really care about the animals here. I appreciate them so much.”
