“The best brewery we've been to so far that's on the Hunterdon County Beer Trail. This place is located on a picturesque hop farm, and has a huge grassy outdoor area that's dog friendly. The inside is nice too and seems brand new. The staff were friendly, and my partner said the beer selection was great. We'll definitely be coming back!”

“Nik's Wunderbar is an okay German-ish restaurant and bar, with an ample selection of both German food and also American bar food for those who are not fans of morsels from Deutschland. Right off the bat, it should be said that there really aren't other German food options for this area, short of driving to the Lehigh Valley, or even NYC, and so Nik's Wunderbar fits the bill in this regard. Service was pretty great on the night I went with my family. I never caught his name, but our friendly, Prince-loving server was a former club kid (his words) from Nashville who moved up north many years ago. He was a character, and part of the reason I am giving Nik's 4 stars versus 3. The food also came out quickly on the night we went, and since we were the only customers that night for the vast portion of our time sitting there, this makes sense. For an appetizer, I tried the pierogies with onion and butter. They were 100% Mrs. T's frozen pierogies in a gloopy, weird, brown butter sauce with sauteed onions. I'll admit they tasted good, but the presentation was sort of horrifying. I'd honestly recommend working on how this is presented. And for my main course, I opted for the kielbasa with a side of spatzle and sauerkraut. The kielbasa was a much smaller size than what many other pubs/restaurants/biergartens that I've been to have served me. It also came on a super thick piece of Italian bread. Maybe some people enjoy this bread-meat ratio, but I'd be happier with more kielbasa and less bread. With that said, it was enjoyable. The sauerkraut was decent, too. The spatzle on the other hand was greasy, semi-hardened, and clearly past it's prime. To enhance my meal, I of course enjoyed German lager. It's a German-ish restaurant after all. All in all, Nik's is okay. The food is solidly "so-so", or 3 stars. But our service was great, and so things even out to 4 stars overall. My amateur tip for this restaurant is this- focus on a smaller menu, and really perfect the German items that you're serving, because that's your niche.”

“I have never been disappointed at The Readington Diner. I went 2 days ago and had their Chicken Florentine Soup. It was absolutely delicious. Their Matzo Ball Soup is also scrumptious. My husband gets that one almost every time we go to Readington Diner. I feel very fortunate to live close to a diner with such delicious food. It makes it too easy to not want to cook dinner and to go get something at the diner. Their chicken and spare ribs plate is mouthwatering. Their Gyro Salad is fabulous. Their pork chops are delicious. Their portions are large. I usually have to bring some of my dinner home, which is great because then I get to have it for lunch the next day, 2 meals for the price of one. The wait staff are just wonderful. Everyone there is very friendly. I enjoy seeing all the cute pictures that children have colored, hung up around the counter of the register area. If you're on Rt.78, get off exit 24, head towards Rt. 22, when you get to 22 make a right, it's right up the road, just a mile or less. It's well worth the stop.”

“I had heard a lot of great things about the Ryland Inn. After having dined there myself, I can confirm that this a fantastic, upscale restaurant. The food and wine list were both superb. One thing I wasn't expecting was the "snack" menu. There are an array of options to order for the table to snack on. This gives the table more time to talk and contemplate the rest of the impressive options. It can be a little tricky finding the entrance to this place. If you have people from out of town, I recommend driving them to the restaurant.”
