“My wife is the Culinary Union's primary member, so we have our medical coverage through her union membership. The Culinary Health Fund does a fine job of supporting its members with medical coverage. That said, not being the affiliate member myself, I'm not entirely sure about their "entire" function, so I am reviewing it based strictly on the name "health fund." The insurance or coverage itself is okay, nothing spectacular, but also nothing subpar either. When the Culinary Health Center opened its doors a few years ago at 650 N. Nellis Blvd., that's where I think the fund shines. If you choose the right medical practitioner(s) for yourself, this is pretty good health care overall. Maybe I've been lucky, but I feel that virtually all my medical needs have been met pretty well through the center. Nowadays, it is incumbent upon you to make sure that you receive the care you need to get the most out of "any" health insurance, not just the Culinary Health Fund. Never sit back and "accept' everything said to you without questions if you don't understand or agree. Your questions will assure you of a better understanding of your medical situation. Their staff, supervisor, manager and delivery driver are all friendly, kind, caring, patient, attentive, knowledgeable, conscientious, thoughtful and professional. Unlike the big retailers, THIS pharmacy REALLY appreciates their customers and shows it too! They will DELIVER your medicines right to your local location. They will also adjust their delivery time (morning or afternoon if you let them know beforehand) in case you have to go to the doctor or wherever. This delivery service is a MAJOR benefit for us disabled senior citizens, who either aren't allowed to drive anymore due to physical or mental conditions or who simply cannot go out in cold, hot, rainy or inclement weather. In a world where most businesses no longer let you talk to a REAL LIVE PERSON on the phone, City Centre answers and will resolve any questions or problems you have about your prescriptions. Truly devoted customer service is sorely missing in this digital era, but City Centre Pharmacy understands it's the lifeblood of their company! These are things I always buy and often can't find in smaller, independent grocery stores. The produce prices were good, with specialty apples ranging from $2-3 per lb, which I have often paid at bigger markets, and dry grocery prices not exorbitant either. The overall bill was a bit higher than at a big-box store, but quite acceptable.”

She makes the effort to know her customers and I know she cares. Even had one time a guy in line collapse and go into a seizure, while waiting for paramedics we restrained him and kept him from hurting himself. She knew him and was an emotional wreck worried about him. Negative encounters I have are usually due to a supplier or tech problem like not getting my kid's inhaler for 3 months or text notification problems, not something to blame this location for.”

“Nevada Treatment Center/Nevada Care Center is the actual name of this place, & I wish there was a more accurate posting for it here on Google Maps, because it's by far the best treatment center I've ever been to. It is a 3-story building, Methadone & Suboxone treatment for opiate addiction is just ONE of the many services they offer here. They also deal with mental health issues & have many wonderful counselors, doctors, psychiatrists, & nursing staff. So if you ARE an addict, they'll also help you deal with any underlying mental health problems you may be facing, such as anxiety & depression. For me that was the missing puzzle piece. I have been on methadone for over 5years, & while I did manage to quit using heroin at my old clinic, everything else in my life remained pretty much stagnant for the 5years I was there. I realize much of that was my fault, because you get out what you put in, but the counselors there just didn't ever really try to connect with me or give me the little push I needed to succeed. It was just a 5-10 minute check-in session once a month & that's all I ever heard from them. Plus, whenever I DID start to feel comfortable with a counselor & start to open up, she'd quit or transfer & I'd get stuck with someone new. In the not even 2 months since I've switched to Nevada Treatment Center, my life has already started to change for the better. My counselor helps me work on REAL issues that will benefit my life, & actually listens to what I have to say. ALL the staff here make you feel like they WANT to see you succeed, you're not just another name on their case-load & it is SO refreshing. I'd advise anyone who is serious about their recovery to try this methadone clinic first. Don't waste 5years someplace where you're just a dollar sign like I did.”

“I visited Vons Pharmacy for a vaccine appointment. It is located inside Von's in the back. Very neat, clean, organized. No masks required. I didn't have to book an appointment for this vaccine since they had just received a shipment. The receptionist at check in was friendly and helpful. After check in I sat in the section next to the pharmacy for the technician. There was a couple ahead of me. The wait was about 30 minutes from check in. The technician was excellent. She wore a mask and plastic face shield. The shot didn't hurt at all. I received a 10% Von's shopping coupon which was a bonus.”
