“The Greenleaf B&B, located in Onsted, MI, is a true gem that we came across and stayed at! The owners, Diane and Steven, have taken great care of this home and it truly shows with all the attention to detail that they have poured into restoring this mansion, which was originally built about 150 years ago! We learned alot about this home from Steven and later that evening we enjoyed the comforts of one of the very nice rooms that we slept in, after spending a wonderful day at nearby Hidden Lake Gardens! And the breakfasts that Diane prepared for us in the morning were served in a beautiful room, and it was so delicious along with fine attention to detail! We look forward to returning to stay again some day!”

“Having stayed here before, I experienced this Hotel under the old ownership, and it was terrifying. I'd confidently say that almost any negative reviews happened during that time. That being said, the New owners, have made the place enjoyable and much less uptight. With the way the place was run before and the lack of general maintenance, one could only imagine the mountain of work the new owners walked into. Credit is due when credit is due, and I say the new folks are much better and more experienced in how to run a "Functioning" business. And most importantly, are much better at communicating and interacting with their tenants. ---If you came here years ago and was less than impressed, come try it now.. you'll enjoy the improvement..”

“Upon arrival I was greeted by the owner Darlene. She is so friendly and personable. I went to my room and looked at the window and seen the amazing view of a lake! There was plenty of patio furniture and picnic benches. I bought myself a sandwich and sat there and enjoyed the breeze! When I went back to my room there was hot water for a shower and I headed to sleep in a comfortable bed! Thank you Darlene for making me feel at home!”

As nice and affordable as HEARTWOOD PLACE is i find it hard to believe they have not had to expand, they certainly have the land to do so. “The price was reasonable and the lake side access was beautiful. Alan and the rest of the staff were very attentive to our needs and really customized our experience. The rooms were simple but very well kept and clean. Kayaking on the lake is a must! We enjoyed a lovely family style bbq in the common area and enjoyed socializing around the warmth of a few bonfires at night. We are very happy with our decision to choose Evans Lake Resort and would happily visit again!”
