“This place is worth the stop in the lost town of Brunswick. It is in a old converted church, and many of the details and architecture-- including Christian icons still exist in a quirky worn style, including the working balcony. The only coffee shop I've ever seen, in many travels in a church. It was quiet and comfortable with a variety of down-home furnishings. If I lived near, I'd go often. But alas may not get there again. Drinks, eats, and sweets were great. Only problem was it was a VERY hot summer day, and there's no AC. But the huge space would be impossible to cool. Up in the mountains, there's not often need-- blame global warming, not the owners. But the ambiance is so other worldly, it's not a big deal. Full of lost mountain hipsters. Brunswick is pretty worn at the edges, so a perfect landing for starving artists looking for cheap space in unique surroundings, not far from the up and coming Fredrick MD and the established DC and Baltimore. Love that they found the place, and kept it frozen in time.”

At the friendly neighborhood Ace Hardware in Brunswick, MD, it is instead the store staff who actively seek you out, then offer their skilled assistance or suggestions. And if you ever have a very unusual question, they will promptly call over another staff member with skills in that particular area. Quality products at reasonable prices and a truly great selection, but in my view what truly sets Ace Hardware apart from the rest is their very skilled, friendly, attentive staff. And I never feel like I am asking a dumb question – they easily tailor their friendly guidance to my own level of experience.”

“I went to the Hive today for some hot coffee and something sweet. Unfortunately for me there were too many choices. My husband and I shared the coffee cake and apricot scone, both delish. The chocolate brownie cookie was so soft and tasty. My daughter loves peanut butter any, so I got her the peanut butter cookies with chocolate filling. It my not make it back to VA. I also picked up 2 loads of love, I mean bread. One pretzel and one baguette. Plan on making french inspired sandwiches for lunch tomorrow. The couple that was there were awesome and very helpful. We will be returning very soon.”

“I stopped to fill up my all american muscle here (1996 honda pilot with a carbon fiber bumper and twin exhausts, 5.7l v8 hemi) and a pickup truck, with a bunch of people riding on it, pulled up next to me. They said they were heading to baltimore on a "Mercer March." I had a blast at the event and returned back to my vehicle and mercer offered to do a 120 inch lift kit installation on it for no charge! Great people at this gas station. The hotdogs weren't that great, but the people are!”
