“Pro shop attendant was very nice, definitely some scenic holes and very well priced. One gripe is the layout, as there are several points where multiple tee boxes overlap with no indication to which hole is which and holes that’ll shoot you up to the green, but then you have to go halfway back down the fairway (down some deceptively steep hills) of the hole you just completed to find the path to the next hole. Still would play again.”

“So as i travel the country for work...i took the past few days to think of where ive had the best ribs, and i realize that its here. I have never ordered ribs with no sauce and so i asked for my sauce on the side. I cook BBQ of all kinds and am known for my BBQ. This joint knocked it out the park in all aspects, flavor, tenderness, bark, smoke, and color. Best Nachos for several reasons and Cheese steak was a hit with my wife. As a fitness guy i watch what i eat very closely but when you can have a cheat day this was well worth the calories.Service was great and the beer selection was amazing. The staff was helpful and restrooms were clean and stocked.”

“Stopped in on my way to Cincinnati for the day. It's a bit off the beaten path, but worth the trip. Fantastic small-town mom and pop style gathering place. The kind of place where the regulars really are regulars, and everybody probably knows everybody. Super friendly people running the place. Got the biscuits and gravy with a couple of eggs. Whoever is making the biscuits knows what they're doing! Soft and fluffy, with no hard spots. Perfect! It's a pretty basic, limited menu, but that's a good sign to me. Means they know what they do well, and they stick to it, without trying to get cute or fancy. The prices were good, too. Outstanding value! I look forward to coming back!”

“(Aug 21) Our food was nice and hot and came out at pretty much the same time, but we didn’t have utensils when they brought it out so we had to wait a few minutes for them to bring them to us. It’s not a huge deal as the food was still hot, but kinda torture when the food looks so good haha. I like how beautiful the decor is. We had a good time.”

“I grew up in Shelbyville and the Cow Palace is one of those places I've told my girlfriend about. I love ice cream and love trying different ice cream places. I stopped in here early in February when I came to town to see family. We decided to get a frozen treat when getting into town. I got the Blue Moon ice cream in a waffle cone (my little brother's favorite choice when we were kids) and my girlfriend got a chocolate shake. The blue moon was pretty good. Nothing spectacular but not disappointing by any means. My girlfriend and I were very surprised to watch the employee make the chocolate milkshake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. They have chocolate ice cream so we were quite confused by this action. The other minor issue was that when the girl running the counter handed us the milkshake it had ice cream and syrup running down the side from it being too full. She asked if we wanted some napkins, however, she should have cleaned that up prior to handing it off. The Cow Palace is one of those small town local joints to hit up occasionally for nostalgia points but probably not a regular place I'd go. I wasn't upset with our experience here but I was a little surprised the ice cream wasn't more "original". The milkshake tasted just like a frosty from Wendy's and was surprising to see being made with chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream. The staff that we interacted with was very quiet and didn't seem customer service oriented. They weren't rude or anything but you didn't get the friendly feeling when coming in or walking out. The feeling of coming and going was similar to walking into a crowded bathroom during a baseball game - There's no eye contact or acknowledgement of the person next to you at the urinal - It's not a bad thing but it's a little awkward if you know what I mean.”

The homemade rolls were out of this world served with apple butter, adequate portions for the meals and dessert was included. A final touch much appreciated was warm finger towels.
