O'Fallon Family Sports Park

Address: 301 Obernuefemann Rd, O'Fallon, IL 62269, USA

Park

“This park is a hidden little gem. I’ve been to many parks across the county and honestly this is one of the best neighborhood parks. If you like walking they have a nice trail about 2 miles that is safe for walking. The splash pad is awesome for the little ones. If you live around the park the walk to the park is even better. People here are very friendly and warm. The park also has a nice diverse population. Plenty of parking spots”

Scheve Park

Address: Harnett St & Harper Road, Mascoutah, IL 62258, USA

Park

“Do not go to this park after dark. I went to Scheve Park at around 12:30 AM, It was quiet and seemed completely empty, but I could not have been more wrong. After spending a short time at the park I began to hear a tapping noise, it sounded as if it was coming from all around me. It quickly turned from a tap to a scratch and got progressively more violent. Looking back on it, I probably should have ran, but my curiosity got the better of me. Shortly after I passed the kiddie playground, I heard the gate slam violently. I turned quickly but there was nothing there. I walked over to the gate to see what could have caused that, but there was no animals or people. This terrified me. I started running to my car but I got extremely dizzy and tripped. I was knocked out for maybe around 15 minutes, and in this time I had a horrible nightmare, but I'm not sure if it was really in my head. During this nightmare I looked up after I had fallen onto the ground and saw a man tower over me, he was smiling with the most terrifying smile I have ever seen, his smile reached from ear to ear and his teeth were shark like knives, I passed out again then woke up around 15 minutes. I quickly ran back to my car after I had woken up and I was able to leave safely. For this experience I am going to have take a star off of this review. It is a great park but I am afraid it is haunted by demons. Stay safe everyone.”

Rock Springs Park

Address: 1428 E 3rd St, O'Fallon, IL 62269, USA

Park

“Nature, woods, peace… Rock Springs is a great place to go for a walk and relax. Plenty of trails both on and off the path. There is also playground equipment for children to play on. Highly recommend a visit or a nice place to have lunch.”

Rotary Dog Park (Member Only)

Address: 110 N 6th St, Belleville, IL 62220, USA

Park

“Hands down the best dog park around. It is safe, well maintained, and the dogs who bring their humans are great. Most of the humans are also great. Nice place to be social while exercising the pups. Plus there is a small dog side that is bigger than most dog parks.”

Hough Park Parking Lot

Address: 423 N 3rd St, Belleville, IL 62220, USA

“Pretty peaceful for the most part. Pond is pretty. The bathrooms are cleanish and the children's playground is well kept. If there are homeless or addicts there, u couldn't tell because they aren't there to hurt you or cause problems.”

Moody Park

Address: 525 S Ruby Ln, Fairview Heights, IL 62208, USA

Park

“Moody Park is a great spot for taking a walk or run on the 1.5 mile paved loop or just enjoying some open space. There are plenty of benches and pavilions to host gatherings. The lake is fun to walk around. They also have a dog park in the very back of the park behind the lake. The sand volleyball and tennis courts, football fields and baseball diamonds are nice. This park has everything!”

Prairie Lakes Park

Address: Mascoutah Ave, Mascoutah, IL 62258, USA

Park

“I like it because it's a short drive. Pretty good sized lake for casual bank fishing. I don't seem to have a lot of luck there though, but I'm no professional angler. Watch out for the snakes, too. They're all over, so watch your step.”

Kaskaskia River Marina/Campgrounds

Address: 1 Harbor Point Dr, New Athens, IL 62264, USA

“Water was very low. Marina closed due to covid. All in all good day. Went thru lock & dam to sand beaches. Stopped at dock bar in Evansville & had shots & bought six pack & enjoyed a rock & roll band.”

Engelmann Farm Park

Address: 309 Shiloh Station Rd, O'Fallon, IL 62269, USA

Park

“My sister has been telling me about Engelmann Park for years and we finally went this morning! This location did not disappoint. The views are unlike any other in the surrounding areas, offering a sweeping view of the Shiloh-Belleville (outskirts) area. The path we took measured 1.3 miles, there are two benches on the path (one covered by a pagoda), and it's a free-leash park! Free-leashing was my favorite detail, as I haven't seen that in any other park I've been to- ever! My pup enjoyed the trail a lot. 😁🐕 Near the entrance to the park is an old German cemetery dating back to the 1830s. There is a private house on the property as well.”

It has a lot of campgrounds it has a shower house wheelchair accessible. Very clean. Cleaned twice a day. (4-wheelers allowed) electricity hookup for campers and even tent campers you pay a little extra for the electric but well worth it if it's 90 degrees out and you need a fan or a refrigerator you need to keep things cool.”

“Nice park. Loved all the shade”

Scott Air Force Base FamCamp

Address: Gunn St, Scott AFB, IL 62225, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“An outstanding RV and fishing area on base! We lived here for a couple months as we were PCSing (thank goodness it wasn't the busy season yet because they limit you to 30 days max). It's on the far side of base, so it is quiet and secluded. There are not that many lots but they are shaded and good sized. The showers and laundry all worked well and were pretty clean. The area is beautiful to walk around or go fishing. Only downside is these are not full hookups (only electric and water). So bring a portable dump tank if you will be here a while. They do have a dump station on the premise, so still 5 stars.”

Freeburg Recreation Park

Address: 300 E Hill St, Freeburg, IL 62243, USA

Park

“Thank you Freeburg. It was so nice to see everyone out and having a good time. The rodeo was great and the food was good. My only complaint is the rides were lame! Hope they put a thrill ride or two in the mix next year.”

Shiloh Community Park

Address: 1 Park Dr, Shiloh, IL 62269, USA

Park

“The pavilion was very large and gave us plenty of room for our reunion/birthday party. The kids enjoyed the playground though there isn't a lot of shade for the equipment area. All the power outlets were up near the ceiling, which is probably for safety purposes, just make sure to bring extension cords. The girls complained about the cleanliness of the bathrooms but the guys room was okay. Even when paying for the pavilion, you have to take the garbage out yourself so easier if you have a truck available. Overall it was a nice time and we were happy with the facilities.”

Silver Creek Preserve

Address: 6751 Brickyard Ln, Mascoutah, IL 62258, USA

Park Moving company Storage Store

“The paved trail is very short. I went around 3 times, just to feel like I got a good walk. Next time I will park near the entrance and walk in from there. There covered picnic tables throughout, bathrooms and waste cans. Each waste can around the trail has dog poop bags. Dog poo appears to be an issue from what I saw, so try to pick up your pets waste to help out the preserve staff. There is a nice lookout area at the back side of the trail overlooking a creek. The interpretive signage is very simple. The wetlands are very pretty even in January.”

Smithton Turner Hall

Address: 115 N Julia St, Smithton, IL 62285, USA

Park

“The hall has been amazing and so above the top cooperative with us and setting up for wedding. Stephanie has been vital to the wedding process. She is amazing!! Highly recommended them.”

Shiloh Dog Park

Address: 3756 Lebanon Ave, Belleville, IL 62221, USA

Park Health

“I only give this four stars because of its limited size. The bark is well fenced, sturdy fencing, and wide open for your dog to run in. They even as you can see, put down straw to keep it from being muddy. There is limited seating and unfortunately during the winter except for the bench in the middle there is no shade. But overall you've got to give props to a small town for having such a nice dog park”
