She's nice to the local people and school kids, does her best to be a people pleaser, takes great care of her employees and is even sweet to the people who don't live near there. Bottom line is there are ways to say things to people without being a total D...unfortunately a guy who popped in with his puppy dog doesn't understand that. You can't have animals in there because they serve food. If ya could, her little doggy would be practically living here. Putting up a bad review on a lady like this is quite pointless and rude when all she did was politely ask you not to bring your dog inside.”

“For a small town bakery, I was blown away. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite, but if you twist my arm, I'll say, Apple Fritter. That is if you're talking about their pastries. Otherwise, I'll choose the Avocado Toast. The toast looked so good, I dove into it and forgot to take a picture, it was that yummy. What really surprised me and delighted me to no end, is the fact that they offer booze. I'm retired so a breakfast out is always like a weekend brunch. I love a Bloody Mary and my cousin likes a Mimosa and they were able to satisfy each of our preferences. Their bar is limited, but the beers they offer are local craft beers. Love it when local supports local. Their chicken salad is killer and and once you've tried it, you'll be buying a container to take home. I like grapes in my chick salad and this one also has candied pecans. OMG, those two extra ingredients made my taste buds sing. The kitchen is in full view of the dining area, so you can see them creating their magic. You can also see how clean and will organized their work space is. Customer Service is outstanding. It's small town hospitality - the staff was witty and fun to banter with. Blackbird is about a half hour drive from my house. It's not a drive I want to make on the regular, but it is a drive definitely worth a special treat.”

I had the western burger and it was fantastic... probably the first western burger I've had that was put together so well that I didn't have to take the onion rings off first to keep it from falling apart. Pure wizardry! The waitress/bartender was basically serving the whole place by herself but did great - zero complaints. Highly recommended.”

I'm a steak guy and the NY Strip I ordered met all my expectations. They also have a great drink selection of beer wine and whiskey, and a Rye selection. “Located in Staunton IL, this quaint little restaurant was really good. The restaurant was well kept and the staff was friendly. They have a full service bar area, and plenty of seating. Its the type of place where people will remember you by name when you visit. Prices were reasonably priced and the food was tasty. Our order was correct and accurate. Lots of options other than "Do you want fries with that.." As you can see by the photo I got a baked potato with my buffalo chicken wrap. Would definitely visit them again.”
