“Off a busy road. In a neighborhood. There is two sizes of play ground areas. Swings for baby and children. No handicap swing. No ramps going into playground equipment. Tennis courts (two nets up) and a small Basket ball court, one hoop to shoot. There is no parking lot. Park on street. Can't park on street after 2:30pm. (2:30-6:30pm) Park is open 7am-11pm My small child (under 7yrs) Had a BLAST here. Could swing and watch cars drive through the traffic light. There is a good distance from busy road. We will definitely be coming back!”

“I was having an issue creating an account to sign my daughter up for a class. So I called for assistance. The person that helped me was great. I think something strange happened in the system(might have been my fault) but she took my number, fixed the issue, and called me back. I was able to register that day for the class. The class has not started so this review is more about customer service which was outstanding.”

“Great place to spend part of the day. Great walking path around the lake which is about 3/4 a mile. Benches scattered around path to sit and relax while admiring the view. Outdoor workout facility is not extensive, but enough to get a little workout in. Paddle boats and canoes available for rental on the weekends are a nice way to get out on the water. Nice firefighter/police memorial is close nearby and definitely worth a look.”

“I've lived in this neighborhood and fished in this lake my entire life. The lake is connected to the poplar creek water system and the fishing can be VERY good depending on how deep the previous winter freeze was. The park district stocked bass, channel catfish, and northern pike in 2019. We got a few 3+ lb bass and catfish in the late summer on medium shiners under a bobber. You can also get decent crappie action in April. Chestnut is regularly home to blue herons, muskrats, and coyotes and you may even spot a beaver passing through.”
