The menu is not expansive like other “canteens” to the in the Bridgeport area but they stick what they are good at. “Republic kitchen is now one of my favorite go to places in Monroe. Despite a slow start due to extensive remodeling and road construction, these folks have gotten into a nice groove with really good food, a nice cozy atmosphere, and a really enthusiastic and friendly staff. I have been ordering the salmon dinner often, but the steaks and roast chicken entrees are awesome too. They also have this appetizer (I forget what it's called), that's sushi grade tuna in some kind of avocado dip, making my mouth water just thinking about it.”
