“Very nice people, very quiet camp grounds, general store has prices like that of the 70's. Beautiful view of pikes peak, a bounty of antelope graze right next to many of the camp sites pet friendly, I highly recommend staying there.”

Garden of the Dogs

Address: Stewart Ave, Peterson Space Force Base, CO 80914, USA

Park

“This is one of the nicest parks I’ve been to. Everyone is very respectful with their dogs and kids have a playground next to it so that they aren’t getting bumped by dogs playing. I always park on the red dirt outside the entrance door, I see gov and pov on there all the time. The dogs think it has the best smells, and a couple spots to dig even. Excellent park”

Park Zoo

“I can't say enough positive things about this place!! So informative, interactive and fun! These animals are taken such amazing care of and preserving each species is so important. They're doing a fantastic job! Great place for the entire family to visit. Reservations sell out so pick your date and time and go! You will not regret it. We even got to see a bear hanging out in a tree!”

Royal Gorge RV Resort & Cabins

Address: 43595 W U.S. 50, Cañon City, CO 81212, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“We went for a long weekend getaway with friends. Our cabin was amazing! We were stunned as we walked in and saw the wonderful view from the 3 walls of windows. It was spacious, and had lovely and comfortable decor and furniture. Our only comment is that there is no window shade on the door or over the sliding door, and the a/c unit being in the main living area makes it hard to keep the bedroom cool without leaving the door to the bedroom open. So someone can look in or in our case it was letting in a ton of light very early in the morning. It was otherwise just a fantastic experience. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. Lots of options to hang out at a propane fire pit. There’s also a lot of kid friendly activities (jumping pillow, playground, swimming, outdoor games). We also rented one of the golf carts, which I would highly recommend for getting around the park. We would absolutely come back here again.”

Metcalfe Park

Address: 618 E Ohio Ave, Fountain, CO 80817, USA

Park

“Not only is this place roomy, have lots of parking and something for just about everyone, it's being improved. New playground equipment with close parking area right off the street. Dog run/park with a few things in it. Baseball field(s) and sand volleyball courts. Rodeo arena with bleachers. There is a skate park with a bowl, mini half, quarters, launch ramps, rails and more. And, my favorite, a paved pump track. It asphalt, and it is so much fun. Made me buy a better bike so I could enjoy it more and get my skills up. Doubles with a gap, quarter and half berms, a spine, and three table top features. This place is just fun.”

Wiggins Town Park

Address: 300-348 E 4th Ave, Wiggins, CO 80654, USA

Park

“Things I loved.. The park was fenced in so I didn't have to worry about my kids wondering off. The have a shade shelter with a bench to set on right in the middle of the play ground. The tire swing was a blast for everyone. Things that could be better... a few swings were broken.”

Monument Glamping

Address: 16315 Rickenbacker Ave, Monument, CO 80132, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Spent the weekend in their ‘Pine Cone Ranch’ location in ‘The Treehouse’ it was super cute the dogs loved having room to wander with us on the property. The space itself was spacious and kept us warm. The first day was chilly and nice then the second we got some snow, waking up to the stillness of snow and having a nice warm dry place to watch from was great. Would definitely recommend.”

Anne U. White Trail

Address: Anne U. White Trail, Boulder, CO 80302, USA

Park

“This is a beautiful trail that is about 1.8 miles up the mountain and then you take the same 1.8 mile trail back down. It is very well marked and it is pretty easy to hike. They put big flat stepping stones across every creek bed. They also put in some flat stone steps on some of the hills. There are pretty rocks, boulders, creeks, colorful plants and trees. We also saw some birds and squirrels. We enjoyed our visit.”

Farish Recreation Area

Address: 12005 Rampart Range Rd, Woodland Park, CO 80863, USA

Park

“Camping here was a lot of fun. If like fishing and paddle boating that is. There is NO cell phone service once you arrive. Bring blankets and pillows. No personal Kayaks. They sell fire wood at the check in store but it is limited and could run out. They sell a few other small snacks but otherwise for food you have to go all the way back to town so come prepared. We stayed in the lodge which be warned you share a bathroom with whoever else rents a room in the lodge. Luckily we were in room 3 and my brother and his family was in room 4. The rooms upstairs must have shared a separate bathroom because we never really saw those folks. The Kitchen and living room space is in a separate building and is a shared space as well for the lodge. It has fridges, stoves, microwave, plates, cups, silverware and limited pots and pans. They had soap and sponges and everything you need. But we bought some things too. We brought paper plates, a few dish towels, new sponge, aluminum foil and a few others items. The coffee mugs were tiny so if you plan to have a coffee and carry to fish bring your own fav mug or thermos. The living room area has board games, tables and couches. We brought a few of our own games. We brought stuff for s’mores. It rained and hailed but we were glad we had the Kitchen area to relax in and play games. We cooked warm meals and fished all day. We didn’t check out any of the hiking trails but the front desk does have a map of the hikes. With no phone service we couldn’t use trails app as planned. Paddle boat rental was fun, steering took some figuring out, forward is left and back is right. Not controlled by left and right which would have been nice to know. Bring head lamps, lanterns or flashlights for each person, night fishing or walking around as it gets really dark. We ended up getting each of the kids a head lamp too. My other brother stayed in Camper Cabin 2 which was so cute, looked like a little log cabin, had a bed and then a small bunk bed, small fridge and electric heater. It did have lights and power but that’s all. No bathroom. CC5 wasn’t as charming and did not have power or heat. Just FYI. Next time we hope to get the Duplex or the building next to the lodge. But we will definitely visit again. I am not much into fishing and chasing the little kids around was a lot so I hope to hike the trails next time while the guys fish, and find something for the younger kids to do. Meal preparation helped too. I prepared most the food as much as i could at home and just had to pull it out for the meals and reheat some stuff. We had premade egg bites and premade mini pancakes with whipped cream. Fresh fruit. Costco pinwheels, PB&J, and of course burgers and hotdogs. Costco premade Mac&cheese. Costco breakfast quiche. Pizza.”

Clear Creek Ranger District

Address: 101 CO-103, Idaho Springs, CO 80452, USA

Park

“I called ahead for advice (3:50 pm MT on Mon, July 22, 2019) on where I might go with my boyfriend to disperse camp in a couple of days. The woman who answered was helpful and gave me detailed directions on where we might go, as well as advice on how busy the area might be at our time of arrival. I wish I had prepared a notebook and pen to write it all down while she was talking but I think I remembered it well enough!”

Nelson Farm Park

Mountain View Park

Address: 922 N Orchard Ave, Cañon City, CO 81212, USA

Park

“This is a comfortable park for our church potlucks because it has the large oversized Pavilion to get out of the sun or out of the rain. There is room to run around as well as a playground and other amenities. It has lots of parking and lots of grass area up and behind the Pavilion. It is a quiet park and away from traffic, at least it has been for us during the time that we have been there from 12:30 to 4:30.”

Royal Gorge Mountain Park

Address: County Rd 3a, Cañon City, CO 81212, USA

Park

“Royal Gorge Bridge includes a walk on the 1,257 wooden planks 956 feet suspended over the Arkansas River. As a person with a bit of fear of heights the swaying of the bridge was uncomfortable. There plenty of thrilling things to do however the incline train to the bottom and the tram were destroyed in a fire. The attractions are now Zipline Gondola Skycoaster Rock Climbing - Vis Ferrara Course Good day trip for a thrill.”

The Batting Cages at Cornerstone Park

Address: 5098 S Windermere St, Littleton, CO 80120, USA

Park

“Goods- Good staff up front, young adults working hard is always good. From last reviews I read they have now brand new loaner bats, not even a hit on them. Plus they’re the only batting cages around. Cons- Looks like they’re doing some much needed updating on the machines and coin operations that are faulty, I’ll update this to 5 *’s once they do. The pricing seems high but with inflation and the nature of cages I don’t think they could charge $1.50 and $1 is too low in todays standards so it makes sense that it’s $2.00 per coin with discounts at higher price.”

Laura Gilpin Park

Address: 7415 Kettle Drum St, Colorado Springs, CO 80922, USA

Park

“What an awesome park! The playground is a little dated, however when it was built they definitely took into consideration younger kids playing on both the small play area and large play area which is not found very frequently. My 3-year-old absolutely loved every aspect of it. Plenty of open space to play any sport including a basketball court and small skate park area. We will definitely be back!!!”

Chaparral Park General Store

Address: 19015 Co Rd 59, Hartsel, CO 80449, USA

Campground Storage Park Lodging Store

“Rob and Dustin are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. And their willingness to share their fishing knowledge of current conditions has helped make my trips very successful. Fishing this past week was so phenomenal that I extended my stay an additional night(Great cozy bunkhouses). Going off of Rob's fly recommendations and what parts of the lake to fish, I caught lots of trout, all over 21", and 90% in less than 2' of water. The cooler weather has turned Spinney on! The best week I've ever had fly fishing. Highly recommend stopping in on your way to the lake to say hi and find out what's working and where to go, may save you a day or two of trying to figure it out on your own....”

Lakeside Campground

The Hunts Brother pizzas are a plus also. Looking forward to our next trip.”

Matthews / Winters Park Trailhead

Address: Unnamed Road, Golden, CO 80401, USA

Park

“I've only come here a few times with some running groups, but I really enjoy the trails here. I would also point out it's an excellent place to go for late fall and winter because the sun hits the trails full on and keeps them dryer! In summer it can get quite hot with lack of shade - definitely bring your sunscreen for this area!”
