“The owner has set the standard for what Good Samaritan mine clean up is. Take a look at the USFS AML maps online. The bipartisan infrastructure law is supposed to encourage cleanup and restoration of long abandoned mines. God bless you for being the one to show how that is done by example. As far as the bad review, remember, these are folks that need signs telling them not to swim in the Grand Prismatic. Everyone else notices and values all the effort put into making it EHWR. The EHWR is teaming with wildlife. It is not a zoo or a tourist spot. It is a refuge. For animals, plants, and the human spirit.”

“We were in dispersed camping nearby and this was our go to spot to pay for laundry and showers! We were so thankful this was here! They have very nice facilities and a great store to get most of the things you need while camping. We found out they just recently changed ownership this year and were trying to see if they offer monthly rates in the very least during low season. We would love to come stay in our rv for the winter.”

“I'd say it's a fantastic hidden gem, but it seems the secret is out. If you have the clearance to get there, this whole area is beautiful. Dont even try in a sedan, even in the summer. It's just too rocky. I got there in a 2012 Outback. Well worth the 1.5 hours of rocky road driving to get there.”

“Beautiful. Wish I could have stayed much longer. Oh well, hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go...”

“Beware of road! I didn’t get photos of the bad areas, but theres a chance of bottoming out in some spots. Not suggested for 2wheel drive or low sedans. Definitely wasn’t sure if I was going to get back down on account of clutch and scraping underneath. You can see that I have a 2002 outback Impreza and I made it by the grace if god ???? BUT it was so worth it!! Nobody was around, and there were plenty of options available. I didn’t drive up further but I know there were more camping spots down the road. It was all free. There were about three other fire areas just within the backgrounds of this site we were at. Lots of beautiful lush forest everywhere for strolling around. No problems with animals. Definitely a favorite!”

“A unique campground able to accommodate a large crowd! Several tent pads per site included. Well maintained vault toilets and non potable water available. Ample parking. Not far outside of the Denver metro area proper makes for an easy commute to get some of that fresh mountain air you're craving. Big fire pits with grates for cooking and a charcoal bbq if you want to grill. 3 picnic tables provide plenty of room for meals and prep. Bear boxes provided to keep your food and campsite safe. Lots of mosquitos and some biting flies are the only downside to this camping site so bring plenty of bug spray, you will need it.”

“The staff were incredibly helpful and hospitable. The views were wonderful. The camp store had a wide variety of supplies as well as souvenir items. The owner was a very friendly guy. The only thing that we don't like about it was the dryers didn't dry the clothes completely, and they cost two dollars to use, but that wasn't a huge deal. Overall, it was a very nice stay and I would highly recommend it if you need a place to camp in the area.”

“Beautifully maintained ballfields with views of Tremont and Fairburn mountains, and surrounded by Aspen groves. Set up for baseball in late spring/early summer, and soccer in late summer/early fall. Small playground and asphalt half-court with single basketball hoop. Adjacent to a convenience store, liquor store, and campground. Short walk (”

“A short uphill hike from highway 45 within Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Dogs are permitted on a leash and the scenery is better the higher and higher you go. Good for trail running and also mountain biking. Hikers need to keep watch out for mountain bikes. During fall the views of the Aspens is spectacular. Parking is free and plenty of space available mid week, overflow parking also available a short distance away. For more hiking reviews of the area, visit Sling Adventures on the web.”

“This is a good place for groups. Its fairly well isolated from other sites and it's a great hike to Dude's Fishing Hole and some good rock climbing. If you follow the rule of "leave it cleaner than you found it" then it really makes it nice for everyone and we've found it in pretty good shape every time. The rangers are cool and the space is great. For large group camping, it's great.”
