“Nice Backpacking trip. We took about 30 Scouts and adults. There was water in the stream when we where there (late January 2020) and the pit toilets were open. Large space, there was another Scout Troop there of about 20 and plenty of camp space for everyone. There is NOT a bear vault bring your own. If there is water in the stream make sure you filter it. (other reviews said there was not water in the stream).”

Some crazy green Beatles come through sometimes at night... Hopefully they open this soon for drivers,the hike in is pretty long.. a lot of people pass through here also as the hit PCT journey...”

“Great place to escape from LA city life for a day or two. Enjoyed cold October nights in those mountains. Beautiful views, hiking around. There are some very private camping spots with spectacular views. Camping area was clean. Neighbors were friendly. Wonderful location to make BBQ.”

“Beautiful camp ground about a mile south of newcombs ranch. On site bathrooms and water. Fires are allowed in fire pits. Winds got a little out of hand when we were up there, but outside of that. Awesome camp ground. Only reason I'm only giving 4 stars is because the ground is full of solid rocks just under the surface dirt. Making it hard to drive spikes for a tent.”
