They were able to enjoy themselves with the variety of games here including air hockey, giant shooting games, and even bowling! It's nice that Avalon has this here for families traveling with children since so much of the island is geared towards adults relaxing and enjoying the view. This place uses point cards that kids use for playing the games and storing their tickets that they win from the games.”

“This was the best experience on the island as regards dining. It was Christmas Eve and we were lucky to not have to wait although it was full of people. Our server was Johnny and he was so great! The wait time was not long till our food came. We ordered the Buffalo Milk (yummy) and a pomegranate martini. The meal was so delicious and fresh, we got Scallops Avalon Style and Fresh Swordfish, so so good . They also offered bread and butter for additional $5, we did not get it though. It seems like they don’t take reservations, it’s first come first serve. 5 stars for sure!”

“The Edgewater is such a gem! The hotel has a beautiful family history, and holds a ton of charm. You can't beat the central oceanfront location, and the hotel itself is lovely, including beautiful photos from an earlier Catalina Island - you feel like you are a part of the island's history. There is a fun outdoor terrace and an indoor TV area. 100% would recommend and will definitely stay here again! Britney and Bo are amazing hosts!”

“Had the wonderful privilege to travel out to Catalina Island. We had a wonderful boat ride and walked around the beautiful island. Ate dinner at the blue water Avalon, there were many seafood and fish choices. I had chicken my husband had the fisherman platter all was delicious! Our appetizer was jalapeño artichoke dip it was very good. They had a nice alcohol selection. Absolutely delicious!”

“This is a great location at the end of the strip near the mole. Great views and decent prices with friendly staff. Some of the food was really good (pancakes were awesome), but unfortunately the hash browns, eggs and bacon were just super oily and greasy. I will still give this place another try on my next trip to the island (hoping we just caught them at a bad time), because the views are definitely worth it.”

“I'm not going to lie we where very skeptical with the low review rating. As we had a family of 5 and had no choice. We had no issue at all. They went over the deposit and cash deposit and proratition if we went over the 60min time for rental. We were very pleased had no issues where treated very well and they were very efficient and quick. We would definitely rent here again and recommend to all our friends.”

“This art shop was wonderful. My family and I got to Jason's shop after the art show. We learned how to mix colors and make beautiful art. We were there about 4 hours and will never forget the wonderful experience and skills Jason taught us. He is a very talented artist and I would recommend taking your children for the painting experience. My daughter learned so much in the short amount of time we were there.”

Invited me to come back, talked to me about what it's like in the offseason. They were super awesome so the next day we went back and got t-shirts for everyone in my family. “Why walk when you can ride a golf cart. It is really helpful to rent a golf cart to see the main points of Catalina Island. I was only in Catalina Island for the day and the golf cart saves time to be able to do other activities. You can see all the main points via the route they recommend in one hour. However, it is better to rent it for the full 2 hours in case you want to see the Wrigley Memorial & Botanical Gardens. The price for 2 hours is $90.00 and there is a $45 cash (only) deposit fee. You get the deposit back once the cart is returned. The driver who gave me the golf cart was friendly to show how to operate it. My recommendation is to make sure to reserve a time frame online. The golf carts sell out quickly when you arrive to the island. The company provides a map that shows the streets and route to take to get the best views.”

“I came here twice over the weekend & I loved their margaritas! $10 for a big fishbowl glass that tasted delicious???? For dinner I had a shrimp pizza with roasted tomatoes and pesto sauce & the next day for lunch I had their homemade chicken pot pie???? Their chicken pot pie was sooo good I shared it with my friends and husband, Lol they all agreed it was super good. I don't remember what they ordered but they all liked their drinks and food too. The waiters were pretty busy but they still gave good service. I got so full I couldn't have dessert ???? both days I was there I didn't get dessert so I'll have to go back again. This restaurant has a good variety of foods.”
