“I booked a fishing trip with Gwin’s Lodge and had an incredible day on the Kenai River. Their guide Scott was eager to plan the trip around my desire to chase rainbow trout instead of salmon. Scott’s enthusiasm and tenacity to find these rainbows even during high water conditions was truly impressive. He used his knowledge to change out fly patterns multiple times until we found what worked. We had a 20+ fish day even with challenging conditions. I will definitely book another trip with Scott and Gwin’s Lodge. Great hospitality and excellent food after an epic day on the river.”

“We were adventuring in Alaska for our honeymoon. On one of the days of driving around we came across this little hidden gem. We honestly almost missed it but saw the sign at the last minute, thought the name was funny/cute and decided to stop in to see what type of little Knickknacks this place “in the middle of nowhere” had to offer. My husband and I were delightfully surprised by all the great things this place had to offer. If I remember correctly, almost if not all of the items in this gift shop are handmade by locals. They are all beautiful and well made. I wish I could remember her name but the owner was so amazingly nice and helpful. She gave us so many tips on what we could see and where to go. She even took the time to take us out side and show us what berries are edible and which ones to stay away from since we told her we were overlanding around Alaska. Her husband has shelves and such for sale in the shop and they have photos of his other bigger projects (he also does things like staircases and such) and they are all so awesome! He’s very talented. She sat and talked with us for a good amount of time, it was so pleasant! She also spoke so highly of her kids and mentioned that her daughter works at one of the places we were going to and was so proud! So we made sure to say hi to her daughter when we got to the other place as well and her daughter was just as sweet as her! This little shop and family made a lasting impression on us and we will never forget them! I highly encourage anyone that is driving around (whether you’re a local or a visitor) and happens to stumble across this place to stop in! Not only are you supporting your local families and artists, getting something unique adorable and well made, but you will also get to meet such a genuinely nice and sweet person as well! Thank you crazy moose lady (im so sorry i forgot your name already) for being so kind to us!”

“Nice and quiet location on the Hope Hwy. Plumbed cabins available for rent and RV sites with full and partial hook ups. There is a small market and liquor store on site, which means there is a bit of come and go traffic during business hours. Located about 1/4 mile from "downtown," it is easily within walking distance though there are no sidewalks and the shoulder is narrow in some parts. The cabins were clean, in fact when a guest checked out, I could smell the Fabulouso just walking by outside.”
