Sleepy Hole Park

A wonderful area and large open park. The play area is Good for children 1-7 yrs. Parking goes right up to the park.

Suffolk Festival of Lights is a decent display if you live nearby. It is free and may take 10 minutes maximum to see. Lights are set up along the entry and the circle where pavilions are located. It is not as impressive as the ones you have to pay for in Norfolk and Va Beach. It is nice, but I wouldn’t drive a long way to see it.

Great park! Playground is not handicap accessible but everything else is lovely. Very spacious with lots of room for picnics.

Absolutely beautiful view of the river from their fishing pier and the grounds were immaculate. Quaint garden paths were also a nice touch. Will be back!!

Took my son for a walk here around the trail and it was very pleasant. As it is the end of August there as I write this, the flowers are kinda not digging the weather and the bees, wasps, mosquitoes are out in force. That said, a little sunscreen, bug spray and water you are good to go. There is a public bathroom there, as well as some port a potty stations. There is a volleyball net and a huge field in the center that would be good for sports. There is also a playground right before you get deeper into the trail part of the park.
