His previous school was not a great fit, however, Mrs. Marlene & Mrs. Monica made room for us and took care of my son’s emotional needs. Over the course of 5 months, my son would run away from the front door of his previous school BUT by the FOURTH DAY at Strong Academy (a short adjustment period), my son ran away from me and straight into the class! Our family is now at ease each day and we are grateful for the opportunity to send our son there!”

“I like the school because they do not play around when it comes to education. Ms. Wyatt, my daughters teacher for 4th grade was superb. She is the best teacher my daughter has had thus far. This was our first year in prince William county. My child started off the year at a 2nd grade reading level coming from fairfax county. My child is now on her reading level and on the A & B honor roll. My child also passed all her SOL's. Ms. Wyatt set up a number of meetings with myself and other staff to come up with a plan for my childs success. I really appreciate this because no other teacher in our past went to this great extent. Now they received a four because some things are just annoying. When you need to speak with the principle, she is unavailable. When you expect to pick your child up at a certain time, majority of the time they are late, but get stuck in the face when you are late. But, not all of them act like that. I wish I knew the one sweet young ladies name at the front desk. The number one thing that plucked my nerves at the end of the school year was because I brought cupcakes in that were made from a ladies home business. They told me I couldn't bring the cupcakes in because it didn't have a list of the ingredients and the kids in the classroom have allergies to certain foods. So, they called the lady and asked her what her ingredients were and told her we still cant except them because you may have made the cupcakes after you made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Is she crazy? You cant guarantee that with any food products bought for one. Two she was arguing with us about an allergy that does not even exist in my childs classroom. Anyway I still got my way and no child had an allergic reaction to the cupcakes. I think when they have functions they should put what the allergies are in the classroom when having functions because I did find out that one of the kids had a dairy allergy and never eats cupcakes when handed out in the classroom. If I had known that ahead of time I would have went out of my way to get vegan cupcakes. I'm just saying this if you want to be so particular about what food goes into the classroom.”

“I attended this school way back in the 1970's. I loved it! Mrs. Gatewood was my favorite teacher. Mrs. Britt was just plain mean. They used to show movies on the big screen in the cafeteria during summer. There were so many activities at Ashurst. I have good memories of Quantico.”

“Gar-field High School held their 40th Golf Tournament and Reunion here. Was very impressed with the facility and employees. I don't play golf but from what I could see the course is beautiful. All the employees we encountered were very polite (I like that!) And hard working.”

“Mrs. Jones is building a music community from the ground up. We sent our two daughters to the piano studio for two years. We had the most amazing experience and the kids loved it so much. Mrs. Jones ability to tailor her teaching based on each student’s learning style is incredible. In my opinion, that could be the reason she has strong bond with her students. What makes the piano studio so special is that, apart from the lesson in the studio, students get plenty of opportunities to perform for an audience and gain stage experience. One of these opportunities is performing for senior citizens in nursing home where students learn performing art and responsibilities of serving their community. Some of her students seemed to be destined to be great performers. In that regard, Mrs. Jones is contributing to the society by giving us a gift of great performers.”

Help them prepare before you transfer them there. Your child will grow and learn to make good use of their time. And get academically strong in a God-centered way while at it.
