“Awesome hike. Great views. We started in fog and mist, but climbed up above the clouds. Definitely a must do if you’re in Virginia. Fun scramble at the top. It may be difficult for children or shorter adults, there are a couple of big steps to take. Bring plenty of water, it’s a long hike. It took us just over 5 hours from the parking lot and back. We went on a week day in early October, arrived around 11am and there was plenty of parking. Hiking boots are highly recommended - most of the trail is uneven rock so you’ll want the extra support for your ankles, and there are a few steep rock faces where you’ll appreciate the extra grip (especially if the rock happens to be wet). It’s a busy trail but since it’s a loop you may not see too many people. Close to the top we met a few who decided not to do the scramble and were coming back down. If you’re that close to the summit I highly recommend doing the scramble and completing the loop down the fire road - both for the satisfaction and the views, but also because the trail is a much easier descent.”

“My son loves it and I actually find it really relaxing and clean and the best part and for it being almost in the middle of Kno where it has so much to do and so many activities for the kids and us parents as well so I'd recommend this place to everyone but just recommending it is super hot ???? already water water and water LoL but other than that just pick a nice shady spot let the little ones play and just relax and take life for what it's worth can't put a price on life if you see and feel the greatness and going here and just watching the kids play laugh and having fun and most importantly getting along with everyone helps me disconnect from the drama fueled world no media no body judging arguing just you and your family in a great place at the Hoover ridge park ????????✊????????”
