“Great campground with full hookups. We used this spot as a launching point for our DC tour. Short ride to nearest metro station into the city. In the summer they have disk golf and some water features. You feel like you are really camping here. Lots of nature and woods. Will stay again.”

“Pohick Bay Regional Park is the diamond in the rough of Northern Virginia. It has a beautiful shaded campground with plenty of full-service hookups, a nice camp store, clean bathrooms and showers, trails everywhere, a playground in the middle of the campground for kids of all ages, quick access to I-95, and is very close to the Pohick Bay of the Potomac River, which is only a short bike ride away at Mason Neck Park. Pohick also has the Pirates Cove water park and a full-service marina, but I haven't used either of those facilities yet. Working in DC, it's hard to imagine a place nearby to "get away from it all," but that's EXACTLY what Pohick Bay is. And camping is only $33/night and they accept online reservations through Reserve America. There's not much NOT to love about the place, frankly. When you're there, you have almost no idea that Washington DC is only about 15 miles away.”

“This place is beautiful. There’s a bunch of trails ideal for running and off road cycling. Not many climbs, so I wouldn’t say it’s all too challenging but it’s scenic. There are places to kayak and nearly 30 mi of kayaking to do. I haven’t encountered many places as beautiful and worthy of exploration in the immediate area. It’s definitely worth checking out.”

“Running trail, fishing, easy canoe launch, piers for fishing and dog park. Camper park, outdoor recreation facility and bow range co-located. Great place for a picknick lunch/dinner or photography. Lot of foxes, osprey and other animals. Beavers pass the point every evening at dusk. The park is well maintained and you need a military ID to access the base.”

“Westgrove dog park is great, there is plenty of room for your dog to roam and the surrounding area is beautiful. The dog park has water, lots of toys, shaded areas and benches. The volunteers do an amazing job taking care of the park and even have Hot Dog Fridays starting June 1st every Friday at 6:00 PM.”
