VAN'S BAR-B-Q

Hidden gem, will stop here whenever I come by. Staff was very friendly and accomodating to my daughter's picky needs and were able to give me an open plate chicken sandwich.
I am forever greatful.

The only reason I gave the food three stars is because the sides were not that good. However, the meat was amazing. Very nice place looks clean. Great place to stop while traveling and not get off the road too far. Only downside it’s a bit pricey for what you get.

Van's is a nice place to get Bar B-Q if you are on the road between San Antonio and Corpus...Sausage is very nice. The 'moist' brisket (they call it marbled) is very good, but the dry (lean) was a bit dry compared to most other good places in central/south Texas. Sides were fine and the service was excellent.

Nice little bar b cue spot. Its off the beaten path a doors like it is a new building going up. The gas station next door is still being worked on. Got the 2 meat plate. Brisket and sausage. The sausage was amazing. The Brisket was the flat so a little dry, but had great flavor. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area. Mac and cheese was not good. Onion rings were great.
