The funeral home is operated with such a small town personal and warm feel and nothing like the awful experience we had with a large, corporate owned and operated funeral home and cemetery where my mother was buried. Brandon and the entire staff were such a blessing to our family at a time of great loss when my mother passed away. Brandon was called by the inpatient hospice center at 2:30am the night my mother passed. We had not done any sort of prefuneral planning but knew we wanted to use Mountain Valley. To be so pleasant, comforting, and reassuring when Brandon called me after being woken up in the middle of the night says huge amounts about one's character and the companies ethics. Every need we had was met, every question we had was answered, every fear and worry we had was soothed and addressed. Thank you for taking such wonderful and loving care of my sweet momma as well as each of our family members. Everything was beautiful from the service we had in the chapel to my mother's dress and appearance. “Mountain Valley was extremely accommodating and considerate with the circumstances they were presented with regarding the passing of a family member who died before Christmas and was discovered by his son. It was decided by all who were involved that because of the short time frame before Christmas and a tight budget (as he was only in his 50s there was no money set aside for funeral costs) to do as much as was affordable and possible in such a short time so his loves ones could have some closure, especially his son. They did an excellent job with so little time and the budget they were presented with. He was displayed exactly as was discussed. The embalming was considerably remarkable, I truly half expected him to open his eyes and say "gotcha!" and that this was all an elaborate joke. Thank you Mountain Valley Funeral Home for helping us in such a trying time and for the closure you were able to help us achieve.”

“I don't know if the price of cremation services are equal across the board regardless of which funeral home is used, but my husband's cremation, no viewing, service, etc, was quite expensive here. However I do appreciate the help of the woman, whose name escapes me now, for helping to establish the proof of a husband & wife, albeit common law, so his useless family wasn't allowed to come in, take his ashes, and do with as they pleased. We were together almost twenty years and his wish was to be buried wherever I am, so I will always be grateful that I will be able to honor that thanks to Crosier-Pearson.”
