“We found this while looking for a great place to let our service dog play in the water and also cool off. Nice shirt who down to the water, lots of area to spread out with others enjoying the water as well. We could tell the water was lower than normal because of the drought, but we really enjoyed it all the same! Remi really loved her swim!”

“My family and I went to Canyon lake and had a good time. It wasn't crowded and it felt like we were on a real out of state vacation. The water was blue and the white rocks gave the lake a really good resort vibe. The drive into Canyon lake was also so beautiful. You see houses on hills. If you are ever traveling to the San Antonio area you have to go here.”

“Been here for about 5 months now, and we love it here! The deer are really friendly, and the sunsets.. oh man, the sunsets are gorgeous! When we first got here in the spring, the flowers were absolutely beautiful. The staff is generally quite nice and helpful, and they have activities! I've honestly had a great time here. 5/5 stars would recommend!”

“This was our 1st time visiting Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park and it was the perfect family vacation for our 10 month old and 4 yr old! We enjoyed the Waterpark and activities the most. Having the on-site restaurant was nice and convenient. The gift shop had reasonably priced souvenirs and Zack was definitely the friendliest staff on site! We stayed in a lodge room, and it wasn't bad! My only complaint is that the walls are thin and the picnic benches out front weren't usable, completely worn down, it's not safe to sit on them! Jesus Christ please replace them management.”

Canyon Park

Address: 1769 Canyon Park Rd, Canyon Lake, TX 78133, USA

Park

“If you haven’t been to this side you must. Soo much space in different parts of the island. You can pull up and park in front of the tables and reverse a little down the hill to make it easy for unpacking. We were on the top of a rock island which was nice and glad there wasn’t a cluster of people bunched up (my fav). Plenty of swimming room but not much shade. Water starts shallow and has a lot of rock but once you swim out it’s deeper and get plenty of waves from the boats going by and jet skies. Pin this spot next the other side gets packed to early. You’ll still be able to get in on the other side. You also have to pay but it’s just the same amount.”

“Stayed here in September and rented a cabin for two nights. Loved the space and the cleanliness! My favorite part was walking the trails on the grounds and enjoying the outdoor space with the deck and the hammocks. Staff are really nice and helpful and great location within Canyon Lake! Can’t wait to book trip soon.”

Madrone Trail

Address: Canyon Park Rd, Canyon Lake, TX 78133, USA

Park

“Very well maintained, although not well marked trail! I love this area because most of the time you will be out all by yourself! Mountain biking is rough due to all the rocks... but for trail running and hiking this is an awesome Hill Country spot!”

Guadalupe River Access Trail

Address: 16510 S Access Rd, Canyon Lake, TX 78133, USA

Park

“For a short trail, probably less than 2 miles out and back, it offers beautiful scenery, variable elevations, and lots to explore! There is an easy level main trail, but I began on the rougher back trail nearest the river at the corner of the parking lot and was not disappointed. It was far more challenging than the flat smoothed path at the main trailhead. If you take this more difficult back trail, be prepared for some rock climbing, a bit of mud, and a couple water crossings. I spent a full 2 hours on this trail mainly from stopping to let my dog get wet in the river and to simply take my time and enjoy the views.”

Canyon Lake Gorge

Address: 16029 S Access Rd, Canyon Lake, TX 78133, USA

Park

“We had a great morning heading out for a tour of the Canyon Lake Gorge today. Anna was our guide, and John was our Docent. They were absolutely wonderful! We learned so much about the 2002 flood, as well as all that was uncovered when the flood tore apart millions of years of rock to create the gorge. There is so much to see and learn. It’s a beautiful tour, and I highly recommend making a reservation. We signed up for the 3 hour tour, but since we were the only members on this tour it went a bit faster than the time they allow. When booking, take in consideration the heat and your endurance level. There are two shaded areas for breaks, one with a bathroom. We enjoyed every fossil, waterfall, and dinosaur footprint!”

North Park

Address: 3210 N Park Rd, Canyon Lake, TX 78133, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Great little park with access to the lake amd several interesting dive sites. No day use and limited camp sites available keep the crowd level low. We booked campsite for weekend but only stayed during the day for dive site access. Campsites near the lake are nice for primitive camping but sites further back are lacking lake views/access from camp to lake. Not a big deal for us but if I was camping there I would try for a closer site. Restrooms are a pit toilet and the age is showing. Not gross, just old and in need of a touch up. Camp hosts were incredibly polite and helpful. All in all a cool place to hang out, swim, and dive.”

Shanty Tubes 2

Address: Canyon Lake, TX 78133, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Great place to rent a tube or bring your own. $20 pp, the tube takes you around the horseshoe. They have two sites, 1 and 2. Sign up, pay and they give you a parking pass. After you place it in your car they will give you wristbands and a tube (if you need one). You get on the river right there and get off the river on the second bridge. Walk up the hill and get on a bus back. You can do it all day for the same entry, just get another tube and start again. Place gets busy on Saturday/sun just be patient. Nice folks run this, bus drivers are nice. It gets a bit crazy mid river… FYI for those with sensitive young children, alcohol is allowed and some wild and crazy parties may abound, but not bad. People enjoying life!!!!”
