“Due to the pandemic, we could only hold a small, outdoor wedding - limited to 50 people. Belmont Mansion not only provided top tier health precautions, they also worked with us to ensure all guests remained safe. With signage, a gatehouse guard, and conference calls before hand, the staff of the Belmont Mansion helped us achieve a fairy tale wedding. For the price and views of the city, this is a venue everyone should use.”

“Beautiful sculpture garden, very kind staffs In particular, Woodmere Art Museum has many wonderful American artists artworks including latest artworks up to 2018 as well as a section designated for students; very nice collections. Impressive! Quiet and beautiful inside and outside... If they sell coffee for the garden and sitting area would be perfect in my opinion.”

Highly recommend for the beautiful nature experience and learning opportunity :D”

Esherick House by Louis Kahn

Address: 204 Sunrise Ln, Philadelphia, PA 19118, USA

Museum

“It was a little bit late in the day when I arrived the last stop of the trip, perhaps the most famed Louis Kahn’s residential project, the Margaret Esherick House, located at the end of a driveway on the Chestnut Hill. The whole block is like a huge green carpet where trees and houses are embroideries that sparsely sewed on it. When I was taking photos in front of the building and hesitating whether or not to walk around for a overview of its exterior, the current owners came back and during our small chat, I got to know that they bought this house couple of years ago and I’m by far the first visitor they met. If not they had to leave at that time, I would have gotten a chance to have a interior tour with them!”

“Went here with my 12-year-old son today. Why are you guys keeping yourselves a secret?? I'm not a car racing enthusiast, but I've worked in Southwest Philly for 11 years and didn't know you were here! We had a good time learning about the cars and deciding which were our favorites. I suggest considering interactive exhibits to attract more families with young children and field trips. I also agree with the person who said upgraded lighting would help visitors enjoy the beautiful cars. Thank you for giving us a fun and unique outing!”

“Small but beautiful self-guided Japanese house. However they do have guides on the premises that make it an even better experience! I liked Candice especially. She was very thorough and seemed to have a personal interest in the culture itself, which showed while explaining areas of the house. I would definitely visit again. Pics attached are of the bath, toilet area, tearoom and the grounds.”

Cruiser Olympia and Submarine Becuna at Independence Seaport Mus

Address: 211 S Christopher Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19148, USA

Museum

“One has to visit a lot of museum ships in the United States and know a bit about American naval history to realize just how special Cruiser Olympia is. She's the only vessel of her class preserved from her period in history, which represents an interesting transition, from some traditional components found on ships before her, like her auxiliary sail rig to more modern features like her rapid-fire guns. Looking at some of her staterooms and the abundance of wood still aboard, things you will see far little of aboard Word War 2 ships or the modernized World War 1 ships still left like USS Texas. And you see a lot more brass and bronze here too. Even her paint job is that of the Great White Fleet pre-World War 1. It is astounding to have her to tour. These photos date to a trip in 2006.”

Mummers Museum

Address: 1100 S 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19147, USA

“An Historic Event that ushered in Every New Year in Philadelphia. The Museum is full of Treasures. Mummers are a Brotherhood/Sisterhood. They devote a large amount of time and effort to this One Day. Sadly I Believe the Parade lost some of its Glitter when it changed its Starting point from South of Oregon ave. In South Philly. Still these People should be Honored for their Devotion and Participation. A Unique Event.Pure Philly!”

“Fantastic experience! $5 admission, $2 if you want the audio tour. I would strongly recommend adding the audio. It gives you a much broader understanding of the house and how amazing of a woman Betsy Ross was. Glad I had a chance to go there and would go again if I was showing someone around the historical sites in Philadelphia”

National Constitution Center

Address: Philadelphia, PA 19107, USA

Museum

“I have been here many times, and each time I learn something new about American history. There is a fun 20 minute live presentation that provides an overview of the Constitution's history, and then interactive exhibits that cover major milestones and amendments. The exhibits are truly interactive, and include voting booths, trivia, audio segments, video, and more. They also have rare early drafts of the Constitution, which are really cool to see together so you can see the document's evolution. The Signers Hall features life size bronze statues of all the men present for the signing of the Constitution, which is one of the coolest aspects of the museum. Docents are easy to spot and eager to answer questions and tell you more about the museum. They are all knowledgeable and friendly, and one of the museum's best resources. Plus, it's right by Independence Mall and many other Center City historic sites. Also be sure to check out the website, which features at least some of the exhibits in digital format.”

“I come here every year for my now 5 year old daughter's birthday. Even though we've moved far, it was still worth the trip. I get just as excited as my child to come and play pretend in this huge museum. We can easily spend 5 hours here because the exhibits are quite large and there is something to play with on every corner. There is usually an interactive story time, arts and crafts, and a special feature exhibit. This visits' special exhibit was Thomas and Friends. She never wants to leave no matter how much time we spend here.”

Fort Mifflin

Address: 1 Fort Mifflin Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19153, USA

Museum Restaurant

“This under-appreciated revolutionary war era fort is a testament to the men who fought off the British coming up the Delaware river. The rooms under the earthen, sod covered walls convey a time of uncertainty and fear. That feeling is not lost when you enter these rooms today - they are very dark and damp. Stop in them, with the lights off and see if you can imagine what they went through - you'll appreciate it that much more.”
