Health

“My 85 yr. old Mom was admitted here for inpatient rehab after fracturing her pelvis. Pat E., the social services director, made the admission process painless, and she always returned my calls within hours or at the latest, the next day. This was all new to us and we had a million questions which she answered with patience. I visited my Mom every single day for 4 weeks and witnessed first hand the kindness and patience of the staff, especially the physical and occupational therapists. Natalie was my Mom's favorite OT. The evening head nurse Vicky was also very sweet and kind. My only complaint is how expensive the food is for visitors, but, one can easily get food at nearby restaurants and bring it back to the center to eat with your loved one. My Mom returned to her level of health and mobility that she had prior to her fall. Pat E. arranged for her to have a better walker before she left and had it delivered to her room the day before she left. They removed all the cumbersome packaging and did the little assembly necessary. The physical therapist also trained me and my sisters on safety measures in transporting our Mom and her proper ascension and descension of steps as well as came to our Mom's house ro review every single detail to ensure her absolute safety upon returning home. Pat E. also arranged for her continuity of physical and occupational therapy upon her return home. They came the next day after her she arrived home! In the end my Mom ended up in better shape than before her fall because of Mercy Center. God bless all of them! How rare it is today to find people with a strong work ethic, patience, professionalism, and compassion, and Mercy's Pat E., physical and occupational therapists have it all.”
