“Wonderfully charming and well kept old hotel, the rooms felt more like a bedroom than a hotel room but we're private and very well appointed. Staff was exceedingly nice. Imagine fresh baked cookies in the lobby, apple-stuffed french toast for breakfast. Fire pits, beautiful manicured grounds. Fabulous wedding venue too. Well worth the visit.”

“I was recently at HollyHedge Estate attending a wedding reception. I would never have even known it was there if I hadn't been looking for it. The grounds were private, and beautiful. Valet parking was great. The food was excellent and the wait staff friendly and helpful. Drinks and dancing were fun, and honestly, I can't think of anything to complain about or suggest as far as an improvement. I can't speak to pricing or dealing with them on the business end, but as a guest, I'd say it's certainly worth your consideration if you're looking for a venue for a social gathering of your own. “We stayed here in May, when I was North for my first mid-Atlantic spring in a dozen years. Their Web site and brochure don't begin to show what a special place the 1740 House is. Accommodations were historic, yet very comfortable. There is a bar on the premises; the night we arrived there was a cookout on an outside grill -great food served in an area adjacent to the Delaware River. The breakfasts there are excellent. They provide coffee in the lobby area beginning at 7 am, which makes waiting for breakfast easier. This is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it.”

“Great experience staying with them. Nothing fancy. Heater works. Food during breakfast is satisfying. Friendly service. I like to be back in another season. They even bothered to call me on our way home and to mail to me a very important document I inadvertently left in the room where we stayed. I did receive it and I few days after. Thank you!
