“So why should we care about Allegheny State Park? Well, it holds the supports for the PA Turnpike and the Bessemer Railroad Bridge. (See first picture from the Turnpike bridge and a second picture showing supports from the ground level). Also, if you like exploring really undeveloped land, this is your place. Flooding frequently and having no marked trails, it's a true wilderness experience. Since access is only by watercrafts, it's good to know there's a public boat launch at Deer Creek Park.
