“Don’t pass up Mister Ed’s full of charming knickknacks from the past and present! Fun Old Time Candy from your childhood, roasted peanuts in a delicious flavor you’ll crave, fudge, Pez dispensers that are hard to find, Jelly Belly, rock candy, you name it, they probably have it. Go for a stroll through the Enchanted Garden (pics) and uncover something whimsical around every turn. The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable about the products and the surrounding area.”

“Wonderful wildlife is thriving here! Birds, turtles, frogs and fish - please do what you can to keep people from putting a fence around this beautiful pond. The fence will keep many of the animal life from thriving. Just leave it alone! The airport is a perfect sanctuary for these animals!”

“Great tour that focuses on the civilian perspective of the Gettysburg battle. Guides know their history and do a great presentation. We saw the special Christmas tour. Disclaimer: the step son is one of the tour guides.”

“I didn't expect anything in particular, but as I crossed the entrance door I was amazed by the amount of items on display. You can spend a good time inside and yet not be able to see everything they have! I was surprised with the weapons, the uniforms, the personal items of soldiers and of historical figures. I totally recommend the visit, that has free admittance, though totally deserves our donation to keep on going.”

“2017- Ronn is very knowledgable on history and photography!! 1,000s of original civil war photos line the walls of his old house from the 1800’s. Quite an amazing collection! And some you can actually buy! Totally worth the $6 to view and it supports a good cause. Just plan your trip around the hours if operation (usually Fri 7-9pm?). 2018- Came back and bought some more old photographs. He is full of information and remembers me from last year ???? hidden gem if you like old photographs!”

“Although one of the least visited sites of the Gettysburg Battlefield, it offers a perspective of the size a complexity of the armies movements during the multi-day battle. Down the road is Benner road, the Benner farm, and the town of Taneytown. The farm is little changed and still in the same family. One of the early politicians of the area was a Benner; and, Benners died in the war. The war was complex and in everyone's front yard in Gettysburg. Every farm was effected and livestock taken. Today we watch it on the History Channel. But, by visiting these smaller towns and less preserved sites you get a different perspective of the less romantic, less glorified, less distant Civil War.”

“Vintage history leasons of the battle. Neat to see how it was explained years ago with the old board and film projector. Well worth the money and time. The model displays of the battlefields were correct and had a ton of details that had to be time consuming to create.”

“Like the idea of one way streets, easier to stop and go sight see. They did the same at Valley Forge. Made it a lot better to navigate.”
