“I can’t say enough great things about this place. I’ve been doing yoga for years, and I’ve tried my fair share of studios but they all seemed more like a workout business than anything else. The Yoga Om is a studio where you grow your practice. Joy, our teacher brings exactly that—joy. The way she teaches and applies the practice to everyday life does not bring ephemeral happiness, but lasting joy that develops from commitment. Although it is ashtanga yoga, her classes are not some predetermined set of postures. She works with each student at their level and with their potential in every class. She KNOWS her students. If you want music blaring in the background while you practice, this is not the place. If you want a quick workout, this is not the place. This is a school where you’ll learn yoga as practice and tradition, and where you can become a part of the community. I am deeply grateful to have all of this so close to home. Most people have to pay thousands of dollars to travel to India for a few weeks only to get a taste of what Joy offers to us everyday.”
