I was disappointed that the corner bookstore, butcher shop, small grocery store that had almost everything at reasonable prices wasn't there anymore! Island Kosher took over and renovated at least three stores to make one large Supermarket! The pizza place appeared to be gone too!!! Would have been nice to purchase a slice of pizza and falafel for Lunch.”

“Everything is always fresh! Their food is delicious! The Italian food made here like vodka sauce, prosciutto bread, broccoli bread, ravioli, sandwiches, well EVERYTHING is always delicious and homemade. Their meat is always fresh and the prices are very reasonable. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh and the prices are very reasonable as well! They sell excellent quality Italian ingredients and food. The girls on the registers are always polite, and the other staff is accommodating, and extremely helpful! One time I bought a container of champagne grapes and when I got home I noticed that the bottom had a little bit of white mold. It wasn't a lot, but I called and told them. They apologized and told me that they would like to make it right. I usually go to the Arthur Kill location by my mom's house, but being that I went to the family fruit on Hylan blvd., I told them that I was in Rossville and it would take me some time to get there, and they told me that if it was easier for me I could go to the Arthur Kill location to return them or return them to either location the next day. I went to the Arthur Kill location the same day and as soon as I showed them the grapes (which only had a little bit of mold), they apologized and told me that they are committed to providing their customers with fresh fruit and vegetables and assured me that they would try their best not to let it happen again. Then the guy went and got me a new container of grapes and opened them and inspected them and asked me to try them to ensure they met my expectations taste wise. They were delicious! It is very comforting to know that they care about what they are selling and that they care about my experience when shopping there.”
