“Such a cool vibe! I took a class on Saturday morning at 10:15am and there were around 20 other people in the class, a good mix of girls and guys. The studio had multiple floors and the class was in the basement. The locker room was on the 2nd floor, but bring your own lock for it. Overall liked the studio and the class.”

“They keep the place clean and they teach excellent 90 minute hot classes which are becoming a rare species in NY as most people's attenion spans continue to shrivel What more can you really ask for?? I am so grateful this place exists and for the entire staff that keeps it running and all of the teachers who sweat their brains out day after day teaching yoga that works your mind body and soul Been with them since 2016 still learning something new from every class, love it, 5 stars”

“Very affordable facility. They have a huge indoor pool with dedicated hours for lap swimming for adults. The lifeguards are very attentive. The locker room is not the fanciest but it’s always being cleaned by a staff person. Hours are great. If you are coming from far away, call ahead to see if they are open. They would sometimes close the pool for maintenance and not post the closure on the website.”

“Update: Having been a member now for a month, I am happy to say I am still pleased with my choice in joining this location. The front staff are always friendly. I never have issues waiting for the treadmill, cycling, or rowing machines. The weight machines can get busy sometimes but I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait longer than 5 minutes. Lockers are well kept. Massage chairs are great. Sauna is hot and clean. The only minor complaint I have is that they recently removed the towel locker at the front entrance. You are now limited to 2 towels per visit, which is pretty inconvenient. I get saving on costs, but the abundant towel service is a part of what makes the experience here feel more upscale. Taking that away makes coming here more of a utilitarian experience and less luxurious. I say bring back the towels! Or better yet, upgrade them. One other suggestion: upgrade the shampoo, conditioner, and body soaps. Literally, if you all did that, I would never bat an eye at Equinox. ***** I honestly don't understand why this location received such negative reviews. I just toured and signed up for membership today. Compared to the other gyms, NYSC is a great value. Passport membership was only $75 a month for access to all locations, though I got a corporate discount, so brought it down to $60. The gym has four levels, it's well lit, the locker room is clean, there's towel service, there's a sauna, tons of equipment, and my personal favorite, pilates reformer machines and classes. The reformer classes alone cost $35 a pop anywhere else in the UES. The front desk receptionists were nice and the trainer Jane was very friendly and welcoming. The only other options in the UES would be Crunch fitness, where the monthly rate is $100 for a single location or $270 at Equinox. I've been to Crunch fitness. It's perfectly fine too, and they have great classes, but it was a little too dark and the layout was a little weird. Equinox is great, but for that price point, no thanks. There's the 92Y and Asphalt Green, but again, they are both similar in pricing as Crunch, with access to only one location. I initially thought there wouldn't be enough class offerings for me at NYSC because they don't seem to advertise it online but after signing up, there's an app that you can use to register for the many classes at all their locations, and they are not full. So you can literally take yoga, pilates, HIIT, cycling, martial arts, etc for a fraction of the cost of regular studios. Ultimately, I think NYSC is the best deal in the UES for convenience, variety, quality, and pricing. Side note: I'm a former Class Passer, and I am canceling my subscription plan.”

“Had a really great first experience here! They had some simple shorts, sandals, and towels to use. I enjoyed easing into the heat with some of their steam rooms and saunas before making my way to the unparalleled Russian Room. This is where the magic happens. Follow that up with the plunge pool, and you feel amazing! After a couple rounds of that we went for some of their authentic food and beer from the kitchen and relaxed on the rooftop patio for some fresh air. Will definitely come back. It’s an experience! And that’s what you pay for.”

“Waking up for a 7am Total Body workout is easy when you know you’re coming to Drip Sweat. The classes are challenging, in the best way, but also empowering! Love the communal feeling of we are in this together! The LED light room allows you to transport to another place where you are just totally focused on pushing yourself harder. The post workout drinks are amazing and the playlist is always on point! The early morning classes with Max are super fun snd worth the early am wake up, and usually are not as packed like the evening ones, so you’ll have ample space to move. Highly recommend this spot to reach your fitness goals!!”

“I just finished taking the 7:30p “Adult” class. I think I was the only proper adult in the room apart from the instructor, but that was fine. The other three students were high school students. We started mostly on time and I got a brief run down of the rules. We did 10 laps as a warm-up; the area is roughly the size of a basketball court if I had to give you a mental model of the size of the space. After the jog we did a brief period of stretching then went into the Ninja training. Within 1.5 hour, I was pretty able to sample most of the exercises; at least the ones I was capable of doing.  There wasn't any rigid structure and programming, and I got to hop in and out of the different obstacle courses. A lot of the exercises require a decent amount of upper body strength. If you aren't used to swing and hanging off things, then your grip strength will definitely be challenged. They also have a balanced based obstacle course if that is more your forte. They rotate parts of the obstacle course on the weekly basis, so there are always new challenges to try. The instructor, Sebastian, was wonderful and very encouraging. My only regret is that I wish they had things like this when I was younger. I had so much fun, and I'm happy something like exist. They also had so much fun. There is another location in Gowanus called Brooklyn Ninja Academy. Which might be more convenient for any Brooklynites. This one is a bit tough to get to if you're taking the train because it's all the way on 12 Avenue and 55th street, but the closest train is located on 59th and 8th Avenue. Some recommendations that, I felt, could have the experience even better: Provide locker rooms to change. The only place to change in privacy is the one unisex bathroom, which was clean, by the way. A vending machine with drinks or water cooler would be great since this is a gym. A courtesy email reminder sent out 24–72 hours before class is always a nice touch. Overall, I would highly recommend trying this out. They make it look so easy on TV!”

“It is an amazing stay for people that really just need a bed for the night in the middle of New York. We stayed for a week and first of all the location is unbeatable. Right next to central park and even in a 20 minutes walk distance to time square. I absolutely loved the immense gym. Alone for the gym I gotta give five stars. Be aware that the rooms are quite small and there is no fridge or anything like that. The public bathroom was fine.”

“I have suffered from chronic back pain for four years now. When I began training with Staci, I had lost hope as all the workouts I tried caused me more pain. Staci and Lee are both very knowledgeable and compassionate trainers, and I have definitely gotten stronger working with them. I often feel they are as in tune with my body’s needs as I am. During the pandemic they have offered training from home and I have found it to be both beneficial and convenient. I am grateful I found them!”

“My C2 experience with SHAVANI was mind blowing. I really enjoyed her energy and style. I felt so blessed with the knowledge and experience Shavani brought to practice. I've been practicing for 7 years with Corepower Yoga and have been to afraid to dive deeper into learning other styles. I appreciated the different nuances in style and form. With the heat turned down, Shavani really didn't do too much for me to break out in to a sweat. It was a mind boggling experience to have myself drip that much in such a short period, Mahalo Shavani! Thank you for sharing your practice. Your voice has resonated with me in my practice and I continue to take away exercising not just my body but my mind as well.”

“Loved it!!! Great boulders, great walls, and great people! The setting was superb and had a ton of variety with lots and lots of routes. Despite not being the biggest gym, the space was used perfectly and had so many different wall angles. Not only that, but there was great density of holds and routes which made the gym feel twice as big. Plenty of fun routes for beginners, some tricky slabs for the intermediate, and maxed out with a powerful v10 and a few v9s. Even had a tension board, dope campus board, and some chill sport routes. Everyone was super friendly, gave great beta, and I even managed to get a free sticker from the staff! Great place to visit, can’t wait to come back 🥳”
