“Great gym! I was in town for a couple of days and found Southern Tier Barbell online. I am currently working a linear progression strength program and thought I would miss workouts while staying with family in the Chautauqua area. Fortunately I found Southern Tier Barbell, well worth the short drive to Jamestown, this gym has top of the line Rogue equipment and a even a dedicated deadlift area. Multiple bars/racks are available for whatever lift you are working on. Erick was friendly and accommodating. They allow the use of chalk! We need more gyms like this! I'll be back the next time I am in the area for sure.”

“As a longtime member I find it the most friendly, personal, and useful gym I've ever attended in any city. And they even give everyone a towel, a full sized one at that; few do today. It is extremely clean, hygienic with disinfectant wipe dispenser everywhere, civilized, and has the easiest handicapped accessibility. The machines and equipment are kept spotless and up to date. Incidentally, the negative review here about a massage is quite confused: the CHFC has never offered massages since they opened about twenty years ago. And yes, the staff all natively speak English 100% and quite well at that, should you enjoy discussions and advice.”

“I got a 1 week membership for $30 (I think) while I was on vacation in the area and I really appreciated the fantastic customer service and clean, spacious workout environment! Before I even arrived in the area, I called ahead to ask some questions about membership and gym details. I had a very informative conversation with Danny (who I also ended up seeing every day that I went to this gym while I was there) who is very friendly and knew the answers to all of my questions. On my first day going to the gym, Danny also helped me sign up and gave me a helpful tour of the gym. I found the gym to be clean and well maintained with various machines for cardio and strength training along with a good selection of free weights and cable machines. The locker rooms were fairly spacious for the number of people there and they appeared to be cleaned often. On the week of my going to this gym (7.1.21-7.9.21) masks were not required for fully vaccinated guests, but there did seem to be other COVID safety protocols in place. My only complaint would be that the music they play is not always great for working out, but who doesn't use headphones, anyway, right? Overall, I really enjoyed early mornings at this gym throughout the week! I went 6 times with my one week membership and felt that the cost was definitely worth it. Especially for a small town area, I was very impressed. I would definitely recommend this gym or buy another temporary membership next time I'm in town!”
