Sri Mahaperiyava Manimandapam

Address: 14 Barley Sheaf Rd, Flemington, NJ 08822, USA

Hindu temple

“Sri Mahaperiyava Manimandapam is a delightful temple in Flemington, NJ. The architecture is very South Indian in nature, but customized for the hostile weather of North East United States. The temple is lovingly referred to as “Namba Periyava Kovil”, referring to its universal appeal far beyond its geographical location. The temple has been ordained by the current (70th) Pontiff of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, Sri Periyava. The PRAKAARA MANDAPAM with the Sanctum Sanctorum with Garbha-Graham, Ardha Mandapam & Vimanam in Granite for Sri MahaPeriyava; a granite Sanctum Sanctorum for Sri Kamakshi Ambal; Sannadhi for Sri Vallabha Ganapathi, Sri Subramanya Swami, Sri Maha Meru & a Vasantha Mandapam for Utsavar deities. Apparently 25 or so sculptors were commissioned to carve the intricate structures of this wonderful temple. It has an aura of peace and tranquility. Please visit with family and friends, and be blessed by the grace of Sri Mahaperiyava.”

Chinmaya Mission Vrindavan

Address: 95 Cranbury Neck Rd, East Windsor, NJ 08512, USA

Hindu temple

“I have been visiting Chimaya Vrindavan since they opened in July 2015. It has a traditional Hindu temple, but is also a cultural center as well as a learning center under the leadership of Swami Shantananda ji. As far as learning goes, there is a very active Bal Vihar, which teaches children about Hinduism. There are a lot of other classes such as dance and math. There is also a small book shop on the premises. There are classes on Vedic chanting. They have a exceptional sound system coupled with a stage which has been host a lot of concerts and dances. Noted singers of Carnatic as well as Hindustani styles of Indian classical music have performed here. Swami Shantananda ji is renowned for his Bhagavad gita discourses. The mission is very well run by a group of dedicated volunteers who give up a lot of time and effort to keep the mission running. The temple has the following dieties, Lord Ganesha, Lord Dakshinamurthy, Lord Radhakrishna, and Lord Hanuman. All of the Hindu festivals are celebrated. Anyone is welcome to visit. The temple is also a calm and soothing place, highly suitable for meditation. It is located in Cranbury,NJ, sorrounded by fields. Very beautiful place. Highly recommend Chinmaya mission.”

Hindu temple

“One of the rare and strange experiences of being in a foreign country outside of India is watching a temple being built from the scratch. It’s like watching a seed germinate into a plant. First time we saw this temple was in 2016 when I was visiting NJ and now after 6 years I visited this holy place while becoming a resident. That’s how times have beautifully changed. The temple is still work in progress with the gopuram still under construction. But the temple’s interiors are completed and the deities of the God’s look so divine and give you the vibes you expect. The priest is very kind and hospitable. This is definitely a must visit if you are in NJ.”
