“The Phillipsburg Mall was the primary mall of my youth. I had many fun, weird, and wacky times here as a New Jersey kid wasting time. That’s why it’s just plain sad to see the state that this mall is in now. For those who don’t know, the P-Burg Mall is about 75-80% empty. Retailers simply left. The remaining businesses are a mixture of big chain stores and local stores with low budget signage. But honestly, walking through this mall right now is like being in a zombie movie set in a mall- there’s just nothing left but mainly empty stores and barely any customers. I also distinctly noticed how cold it was in one wing of the mall as well on a winter’s day. Meaning, I don’t think the heat was on, or it was super low, or there is a major leak somewhere in the building... Anyway, I’m giving this mall five stars out of solidarity. Support the mall! Plus, there are two legitimately interesting and cool businesses now in the mall- Black Rose antiques in the former JC Penney space, and Spin Me Round, a cool independent record/music store with a stage for live music. These two places alone make this mall worth coming to at this point in time.”
