Cool! It was a really a interesting house but everything in the gift shop was really gimmicky.

This is a great historic venue showcasing the life and times of mid-18th century Maplewood/South Orange, NJ. When they have special events, and/ or open their store, it's fun to visit. Non-profit, any purchases/donations go towards the foundation.

Great spot to learn about local history and participate in fun and interesting events. Events are usually once a month on Sunday afternoons and are free. Lectures are often geared for adults but there are many programs that are great for families. Welcoming staff and guides.

I wish I had visited here when I first moved to Maplewood 30 years ago, but am delighted to have made regular visits in the last decade to see their various exhibits & programs; these are always interesting and informative. I particularly like the exhibits about the various neighborhoods in town; if you own an old house and love your neighborhood, these can be quite fun.
