“As of 2018 this is the best campsite at Bartle by far. Though Apache in Lone Star this is close to the pool and Osage River Trading Company, Sycamore is only 60 feet from both. It was the only camp site that had the platforms for the new tents put in without removing any trees so it still have lots of shade. Our troop wants to continue going to this campsite for the foreseeable future.”

“My family has been here twice oh, but it's been years ago oh, so I'd recommend paying attention to more recent reviews. I remember the tour of the Fort and explanation of why things were there. And I really enjoyed the gift shop. Good place to get the feel of this part of the country in the late 1800s. Pioneer life.”

“Large, excellent council ring for large scale gathering of all scouts and leaders for a camping session. Shaded even in the early afternoon or late morning (depending on which side you are on). Well built, solid bench seating. Not the most comfortable for long ceremonies, but it should last a good while.”

“One of the first campsites to be built up for high impact camping with terraced retaining walls, crushed gravel paths, new concrete latrine and steel framed camping tents. Large enough for two troops, but pods well separated so each troop has their own space, and each level of scouts have their own space. Equipped with a FEMA storm shelter, full pavilion roof and a locking closet for valuables, food and paperwork, it is an excellent site in Lonestar. Closest campsite to the pool, dining hall and trading post. The lowest level of tents is difficult to get to, as it is down a steep slope, not yet fully terraced. Mind your step! Second year here and enjoying it!”
